We had a dewalt keyless with a bit in it and stuck from where I had gotten it wet. WD-40 did not help.Sprayed PB Blaster in an around the chuck, let it sit for 30 minutes. One good twist with channel locks opened it right up.
Try heating the chuck up with a blow lamp, but only a bit at a time, the heat will alow the metal too expand , then with two pipe wrenches open the chuck up, i tried wd40, brute force lol, but failed with everything except thee above , took me 10 minutes.
A nice explanation from another site - hope the poster doesn't mind !
1.Set the CLUTCH lever(the ratchet) to position ONE.
2.Set the TRANSMISSION lever(black knob with 3 positions) to position ONE.
3.Take tha battery off the tool (to avoid injure into your wrists or hands).
4.HOLD Tight the chuck from the CONNED area onto a STATIONARY VISE (Make sure it is very tight).
5.Grab TIGHT the motor HOUSING of the drill with your R Hand (If you are Right handed)
6.Grab TIGHT the handle of your tool with your Left hand and SLOW BUT
with the maximum OF YOUR STRENGTH UNSCREW THE TOOL COUNTER CLOCKWISE.
7.IT WORKS FOR ME.
Try a little WD 40 into the jaws around the shank of the bit, if possible.
Otherwise, channel locks and a quick twist has been the only thing that's successful for me.
Good Luck!
