Pics gone in DCIM folder. Using a Nikon s3000 coolpix camera, connected to computer, F:\s3000 is detected, within it is DCIM folder present, and within DCIM folder presents Nikon100 and Nikon101 folders,...

You cannot create new folders on an SD card and copy images to them, as the camera will not recognise them, since they were not create in the camera. Copy the entire contents of the card to a folder on your HDD, then format the card in the camera.

Do I create folders on my mermory stick to download my music, pictures adn ringtones?

Actually you dont have to, the Phone creates these folders automatically, all you have to do is copy your music to them. But strangely enough your music and Pictures dont have to go in the music and pictures folder, you can place them where ever you wish. Just in case you need to create folders manually you can use the procedure outlined below. However there isnt any need too, the phone should create these folders automatically once your format your memory card (view your phones manual for details on doing this). But remember you can put the files anywhere the folders are just there for sorting sake..

connect the memory card to your computer via a port or some device,,(like cellular phone or camera)

1.) when windows read the card, click cancel to close off the window
2.) click start / my computer
3.) double click on your memory card (it shows up as a removable device)
4.) right click on any empty spot and (left click new and left click folder)
5.) type the name for your folder

click the - sign to minimize the window

1.) browser to the folder where you have your music or pictures in
2.) select the files you want to put on memory card (hold ctrl and click multiple files)
3.) hold ctrl and press c (Ctrl + C) to copy the files
4.) click on your memory card window to the button of the screen to open it up
5.) right click in any empty space then click paste.

your files will now be copied to the folder you created on your memory card. Repeat as needed to create more folders and copy more files.

How do you format sd card for quickfire

Hi alln1nite,
I just found this so I hope it works for you too:
  1. Put the SD card in a reader hooked up to a PC. Move everything off the SD card and into a temp folder I created on the PC.
  2. Put the card back in the phone and have the phone reformat the card, thus ensuring all folders will be read correctly (Settings > Phone > Memory Meter > SD tab > Format)
  3. Put the card back in the reader for the PC and copied things from the temp folder and into the appropriate folders the phone created. (Music, Video, images, etc)
If you don't have anything on the SD card to back up just continue with step 2.

How do i change my htc text tones (alert) to mp3

To add other sounds to your notifications list, you will need to get to your SD card.

On your SD card, you will need to create a directory titled media. Within the media directory, create a folder titled audio. Within the audio directory, create a folder titled notifications.

Place any .mp3s or other sounds into this notifications folder. Unmount the SD card. Reboot your phone. When you go to Settings > Sound & display > Notification sound, you should see all the newly copied files on your notification list.

Good luck.

Copying videos from the camera to the computer

Ruth when you put the media card into the pc it should read the card and perform and auto play if it does you need to chose open folder to view files. When you do this all the media should appear as thumbnails in the window.. What I do with my media is I will create a new folder on the desktop... right click on the computer screen and scroll to new highlight folder.. .name the folder what you want ... kids pix.//b-day party... etc... I find the easiest way .. and because I'm a visual person is to open the folder I created restore it down smaller on the screen so that both the files from the memory card and my new folder are opened side by side. highlight one image or file on the memory card hit cntrl+A and all should be highlighted ... now just drag them to the new folder that you created once they are they the card should be clean... if you happened to copy then just erase all the images off the card when they are in the folder... hope this helps

Hi,

just format your phone memory and memory card through your pc.

this is the solution ... How to do!!

Copy your all files from memory card and phone memory to your hard disc and format both of them.........

Now start your camera, select destination - first the phone memory, click one photo. Then your memory card, and click. This is just to create folder through mobile. Now try to play song to create folder.

Now!! paste your files to the folder created on your phone and Mem card, and don't past the folder. If you need folder then create new one.

Your Phone will be OK now !!!!!!!!!!!

Getting pictures to be viewable on camera from memory card

Yes, you can easily copy back the pictures to the memory card through a card reader, but first you should reformat the card on the camera so that necessary folders can be created. There you'll find something like DCIM folder, create a new folder and copy back the pictures on that folder.

Please help

Hi

The camera creates its own folder named " DCIM " during the initial Format process
New folders would be created in this folder. To recover your lost images

Try removing the memory card and connecting it via a card reader/usb adapter to browse the contents of the card. Save all pictures elsewhere on your PC.

But chances are when you created the new folder the camera may have deleted the contents of the default folder. (the previous existing photos)

Save any photos you can find & re-format the memory card using Camera settings menu.
