Since this problem occurs periodically during the wash cycle, I would check your drain pump filter for obstructions first. It could be that you have debris lodged in the pump causing it not to drain properly. To access the pump:

1. Unplug the washer.
2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the screws under the bottom edge. HINT: Placing a couple of blocks of wood under the front feet of the washer will make access much easier.
3. The drain pump is located under the wash tub in the center. HINT: If you own a shop vac, remove the drain line from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum through the drain line. This will remove all residual water from the washer and make clean up later a lot less messy. Now, remove the cover on the drain pump and remove. Clean out the pump filter and check the pump impeller for obstructions.

If you do not own a shop vac, place a bunch of towels around the drain pump BEFORE you open it. There's about a gallon or so of water in the tub, drain line and pump.

The coin will not drain out nor be fed back into the tub by the recirculation pump but it will block the filter or eventually block the impeller of the drain pump and break it. You'll then experience a draining problem and need to replace the drain pump.

What you have to do is remove the basket to get the coin out then take the opportunity to clean the filter vanes. The coin is most probably still in the filter.

Tape the lid to the top of the washer then disconnect power to the washer.

The top of the washer is held to the front of the cabinet by two locks located about six-and-a-half inches away from the outer edges of the washer. Use a putty knife blade or similar tool to press and unlock the top locks.

Insert the blade of a putty knife into the seam between the top of the washer and the cabinet at the given distance from the outer edges of the washer. Press the locks then lift the top of the washer.

Remove the impeller (wash plate) cap by inserting the blade of a flat-bladed screwdriver or similar tool into the slot in the impeller cap, and then pry the cap off.

Remove the 7/16" hex-head bolt from the impeller (wash plate), then lift and remove the impeller from the basket.

Pull the recirculation hose off the tub ring by compressing the spring clamp holding it in place. Remove the tub ring by prying and unsnapping its tabs from the tub.

Lift the basket out of the washer to access and clean the filter. Remove the two screws holding the filter to the tub. Take the filter off and clean it.

Reinstall the filter, the basket, and the wash plate. Secure the wash plate with the 7/16" hex-head bolt then snap the impeller cap in.

Put the tub ring in place aligning the tabs then snap the tabs back into position. Reinsert the recirculation hose into the tub ring and secure it with the spring clamp. Push and lock down the top of the washer to the cabinet.


In case the coin is no longer in the tub or in the filter, turn off the water supply to the washer. Disconnect the fill hoses from the rear the washer and remove the end of the drain hose from the laundry tub or stand pipe.

Place padding or cushion on the floor fronting the washer, and then carefully lay the washer on its front panel to access the drain pump at the bottom of the washer.

With the washer facing down and you facing its bottom, the drain pump is on the left while on the right is the recirculation pump. You can actually see the drain hose connected to the drain pump.

Using a pair of pliers, compress the spring clamps holding the drain pump inlet and outlet hoses. Move the clamps away from the pump then remove the hoses.

Remove the three 5/16" hex-head drain pump mounting screws. Open the wire cover on the pump then disconnect the wires from the terminals of the pump, and then remove the pump from the washer.

Check the pump impeller for any debris and clean it. Reinstall the pump after cleaning and secure it with the three 5/16" mounting screws. Reinsert the inlet and outlet hoses then secure it with the spring clamps. Make sure the tab on the outlet hose connector fits into the slot in the outlet hose.

Reconnect the wires to the pump terminals then close the wire cover.

Prop up the lower front edge of the washer or cushion the rear top edge with cloth and lean the washer against the wall for easy access to the three screws securing the lower front access panel to the cabinet. Remove the screws and pull down the lower front access panel to remove it from the cabinet.

Place a shallow pan or lay a towel under the filter to catch the water from the pump. Unscrew the filter from the pump assembly and drain the water. Clean the filter and screw it back into the pump assembly. Slide the lower front access panel up back into the cabinet and secure it with the three mounting screws.

If you experience a problem where the washer does not drain properly or the drain pump makes excessive noise, here's the information you need to check the drain pump:

Symptom: PUMP IS RUNNING, BUT NOT DRAINING PROPERLY.

1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the three 7mm screws under the bottom edge of the panel. HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws. Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off. If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.
3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
5. Here's a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don't own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there's nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT - DO NOT FORGET!).
9. With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console - DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button). "C00" will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
10. Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping. Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
11. At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
12. If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.


NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.

yes it is Ok you probably have something blocking your pump. Facing the washer take a thin but stiff putty knife come over from the edge of the washer about 2-4 inches and insert the knife you should feel a spring clip when you push in at the same time lift the top a little. Do that to both sides. Then take the two screws out of the bottom of the front panel slide it down then off. You will see a hose coming down from the tub to the pump if you have a wet vac remove the drain hose from the stand pipe and use the vac to pull the water out of the washer squeeze the hose up and down to see if any thing is in it. If you don't have a wet vac go to the auto parts store and get a pair of radiator hose clamp pliers and clamp the hose coming from the tub to the pump. Put down some towels and remove the hose from the pump .With a flash light look in the pump to see if there is a foreign object jamming it or blocking it if any of the impeller blades or broken you will have to replace the pump then reassemble and if you used the hose clamps don't forget to remove them .let me know what you find
