Hello arnita2211,

This error message is due to an improper format, that your dvd player can't handle. To correct this you need to use a program such as nero and in nero is a program called nero vision, that will recode the movie file into a dvd playable format.

You can download a trial of nero here
http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-nero9-trial.php
You will have to purchase a license when the trial ends. Sorry we cannot give you a serial key for this as it is Illegal.

Thank you for trying Fixya!

Usually it's because the movie was a PAL (European) format and you didn't burn it as an NTSC (American). You need a video conversion program, where you can select NTSC when you run the conversion. The resulting VOB files can now be burned into a DVD.

SOURCE: disc error "playback feature may not be available on this disc"

the message you are getting is the machines waay of telling you that it can not read that disc. which means you will have to burn your discs in a different format. or your are using a type of disc it does not recognize.

Disc Error: My question is a result of a recent problem that I have been having with your product and recorded DVDs. On certain movies, I have been able to play them with absolutely no difficulty. However...

some older dvd players dont play dvdrs very well, but most wont play dvd in pal format only ntsc some movies are recorded in pal, you can change format if you are using nero on the last stage wher you click burn choose ntsc

HELP I made a movie using Windows (Vista) Movie Maker, was able to burn it to a CD-R and it appears to have burned to a DVD-R but it won't play on my DVD - message says: Playback feature not available

Well it looks like you saved it in the wrong format and belave me I done this as well save it as a MPG or AVI and not WMA or WMV your going to need another disc to burn but we all learn from little mistakes I pray it works for you if not you may need to use like NERO instead or ROXIO is good too good luck to you..

Disc error "playback feature may not be available on this disc"

I have a DVD and VHS player in 1 and it was working well then all of a sudden the DVD player part just stopped playing. I stick in a disk and then it would read: disk error play back feature may not be available on this disk. And this disk is fine it plays in my daughters room in her 2 in 1 player. so What can I do? The VHS player works well. Help! I dont really want to buy a new one!

I can't get my dvd to load

Do you get this error with every disc, or with a specific one? could it be possible that the discs in question have certain features on them that can't be used with your player? such as audio tracks, subs, angles etc? If you're burning discs, always do so in 2x or 4x, turn off all other programs while ripping/burning. Try other discs and post back if you have any more info
