HP vs19e Computer turns on Monitor stays Black. blue light blinks

My computer recently had issues and was being repaired. I now have a working computer, but I have to turn the power on and off about 20-50 times before monitor will come on. The computer place says its probably that my monitor is bad??!! When I turn computer on the monitor stays black but the blue power light on monitor blinks steadily. I have to keep turning computer off and on and it will eventually come on. I have tried unplugging from computer, from outlet on power strip, different plug ins, turned off in back, front, power strip, I think I have tried everything. I have checked all of my display settings nothing seems to work and even though I dont have hibernation or sleep settings on if I am away too long the monitor will be black when I return and back to square one with turning power on and off for 2 hours to get it going.

I'm facing the same problem as the one mentioned above. When I switch on the computer, the blue light on my monitor keeps blinking. I keep the monitor on and it starts about 5 mins after my computer starts. It's the same model i.e. HP vs19e.

Same here- I understand that the capacitors are bad and need to be replaced. I am going to undertake it myself. Radio Shack sells them.

Hp entertaiment pc problem display STAYS BLACK BUT ALL LIGHTS COME ON

If the Video Controller fails, the screen will stay black when the rest of the computer runs as it should. To test this, look to the side of the computer and locate the external Monitor attachment. It is a nine pin male outlet. Take a regular computer monitor and attach it to the connection and turn on the computer. If the Monitor acts like your normal LCD screen, then the main LCD screen is bad. If Neither the Monitor or LCD works, then the Video portion of the computer may be defective.

I have HP vs19e and was happy with it, worked perfectly. But, by no reason, it turned out for good. No, after it happened for the 1st time it rested for about 1 hour or so and started to work again. But no...

i repair one and i'm totally novice in electronic ... look if some condensators are inflated and try to change it ... it is not very complicated with a little soldering iron ... i repair 2 monitor like that without testing anything it is often condensators i think (u can find some in old motherboard card) .... if it doesn't run ... matter is more important and you probably win time to change your monitor ... good luck ;-)

My HP vs19e flat panel monitor began taking longer and longer to come on and now it's hours. I'm afraid that one day it's not coming on at all. I have been leaving it on to keep from having to wait but...

Haven't run into this particular problem, but many have been able to fix their monitors that won't come on with my tutorial. See the link below:

Monitor goes blank after 3 seconds -Samsung SyncMaster 920NW

Could be a power issue. If it doesn't show anything at all then that may be the case. It may also be the display itself. It would be a costly repair so you might be better off finding a new monitor.

My hp vs19e monitor has dark screen and blinking power button.

Could be the power module or the backlights (more likely backlights if the "luminance" varies)- $156 sounds a little high but not insane, but you realize cost of replacement is lower, do you not?
