Sennheiser hookup to noncompatable Samsung DLP TV

Samsung TV does not have a jack to connect a sennheiser TI250 unit. Tried work around by going thru an amplifer (TEAC AG-V8050) to power/feed sennheiser signal. This was set up by another person and I didn't check out the specific hookup-dumb! It has stopped working and I can't figure out how the hookup worked-none of the manuals cover this.Does anyone know about solving this problem? My wife is fighting cancer with a severe hearing loss and this is her LIFE SUPPORT!

Thanks, I'll try your ideas out. I tested the componets by using them in a spare set. I can't figure out the connections thru the amplifer. I could hit VCR 1 and that channel would send the signal to the sennheiser. But the connections to the back of the amplifer didn't match a normal hookup for VCR 1. I need to find someone who handles sennheiser hook ups. Thanks for your ideas.

Ok if I understand what you are saying. You are going from your TVs audio jack into an amplifier TEAC AG-V8050 and then into the Sennheiser T1250 unit? This is done to amplify the sound so your wife can hear the TV via Infared into headphones I am guessing. The connections would have to be as follows. TV RCA jack (Installed by someone to TV audio Output section, most likely the speaker) to the Amplifier TEAC AG-V8050 via RCA cable then from the Amplifier via RCA cable to the Sennheiser TI 250 IR Transmitter. The transmitter then takes the audio input and turns it into a digital signal which is transmitted via IR to headphones which your wife is using. First of all the amp TEAC AG-V8050 is not needed. what happend here is the person doing the installation took sound off of a preamp to avoid having to deal with the TV volume control. This works but it makes matters harder. So here is how you troubleshoot this problem: 1) Disconnect the amplifier and plug the RCA jack of the TV into the RCA jack of a set of amplified Mono headphones. (This is to determine if sound is coming from the TV) If not the problem is in the TV audio section and you will need to take it to a TV repair shop. 2) If audio is coming through the headset the trouble is in the amp or the sennhiser unit. To test the sennhiser unit: plug the sennhiser into the audio out of a VCR and listen in the headphones for sound. If you have sound, the sennheiser is good and the problem may be in the amplifier, but if you do not have sound the the sennheiser is bad. 3)Connect the audio out of the VCR into the audio in of the amplifier and plug the output of the amplifier into the sennheiser which tested good with just the VCR alone. If no sound is present then the amp is your culprit. Once you find out which component is the problem, I would suggest finding a rapair shop here on FitYa to repair your unit or having an electronics technician come to you to fix the bad component. This should help, Thank you, Shuttle83

    Hello davislr,

If you can send me some pictures of the jacks, the connections in the TV, and the wiring scheme, I might be able to come up with a connection method that will work for you.

Let me know if this is a possibility.

    Thank you,

    Shuttle83

Sennheiser 126 connect to tv

You should be able to hook the tv to the cable box the cable box should have your A/V jacks. If so unplug the PS3 plug in your receiver to the cable box and run the PS3 through the receiver. Also check the side of the tv for HDMI inputs if you have HMDI you can go to Radio Shack and get a converter to go from HDMI into A/V

Audio from tv is not restored by turning off power on headphones

It sounds as if you are plugging the base into a standard headphone jack located on the Television set.

RCA Headphone jacks (incl mini) automatically stop the sound output to the main speakers on almost every set I have seen.. or home stereo.. etc etc

In other words you can take a standard RCA jack.. with nothing connected to it.. plug it in while the music or sound is coming out the main speaker.. and it will cut off the output to those speakers..

If you set has audio outputs on the back.. preferably Fixed Audio Out .. you will need to connect your base unit to those.. turn your set volume to 0 and adjust the headset volume using the control on the right ear-cup.

If you have variable audio out.. you will need to go into your TV sets setup menu.. turn off the speaker.. and turn up the set until you achieve a signal and decent volume through the headset.

If you are missing these connections.. your current “work around” is your only solution.

Best of luck

Sennheiser rs-126 connection

Yes, you may. RCA connections are universal, just don't connect an input lead to an output jack: you might damage the jack.
