Why doesn't my sony micro hi-fi component system cmt-lx20i charge my ipod while it plays from it?

The charging must be occurring whilst it is playing but battery is also getting drained at the same time whilst it is operating the iPod. So the nett recharge must be small. It is only possible to charge better when the iPod is in standby and the Sony system is on. Also see the instructions for the Sony system.

Micro hi fi component system sony cmt-ne5 / ne3 I

Hello
Check its sled motor. It is the motor that helps to spin the disc inside. If disc do not spin inside, check the voltage at the terminals of this motor. If it is alright, and comes near to 5VDC, the sled motor is damaged and have to be replaced. OK.
