I am trying to download pics to computer i have already downloded software etc and have successfully downloaded other pics from cam since i have added a memory card when I plug cable to download into...

Blinking light means your computer still in process reading your data from memory card. Higher capacity of memory card would make the computer need longer time to read it. Just be patient and don't unplug the USB cable.
If you think its too long, then you can unplug the cable data, put off the memory card and open in via card reader so you can download your pictures to PC.

Nothing happens when i plug into my usb port to download pics. green light on camera blinks is all that happens. was working fine until now

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Stoplight shows even though all pics have been downloaded

Do you happen to be on a Mac when you downloaded the photos? If so, make sure to empty the trash (while still having the camera plugged in) after you delete them.

Downloading pictures to my computer

I don't use software or anything like that. Here is what I do:
1- Plug camera into USB cord (with it being plugged into your computer)
2- Turn on your camera, a blue screen will appear with options, select "PC"
3- Open your "My Computer" folder, you should now see a new drive, I have 2 hard drives so my camera is usually under "H://"
4- Select your picture(s) and drag and drop them into a folder or wherever it is you wish to store your pics. It will not remove them from your camera or memory card, it will simply copy them.
5- Power off your camera and remove the USB cord.

Simple as that! :) Again, that is just how I do it! I use Ulead PhotoImpact to edit my pics and such. Hope that helps!

Camera does not respond when turned on or when plugged in to recharge.

I followed the advice of my Fixya adviser--remove the battery for 3 minutes then plug the USB cable into a different port on my computer and plus in the camera. I did that and turned the camera on as advised but the green light still did not blink. The adviser did not respond when I asked what to do next so I disconnected the camera from the computer and plugged it into the charger. This time the first blue light started blinking (nothing happened when I tried it before following the Fixya advice). I left the camera to charge all night and eventually, after about 12 hours, it did.
Seems O.K. now.

How do you download pictures from my camera to the desktop adn to a usb flash drive

You need to download the pics to a PC and them move them over to a USB drive, or in a less common fashion, download them directly to a USB thumbdrive through a PC. PC needs to be used in either case. Firewire is different as it is not a peer to peer connection. I use Picasa from Google to download pics and you can specify where the pic folder is on your pc or USB drive.

Are you sure the computer s 'seeing 'the camera this time. USB can be a bit iffy. Leave the camera plugged in but switched off. Repbbit the computer and switch on camera Check 'My computer' to see in there is a 'New drive' indicated.
