Question about Dryers
Kenmore stackable washer dryer. Dryer buzzer is so loud that it is causing our house to crumble and settle more than it should (lol). In all honesty, it is actually causing physical pain in my chest everytime it sounds at the end of the dryer cycle. I want to disable the buzzer. Does anyone have any idea how to do this? The buzzer is part of the timer apparently. Thanks.
Just solved this problem for a Kenmore stackable washer dyer! Sorry I don't have the model number. I have a baby on the way and a small house. I was pretty sure I would get no sleep between the baby crying and the baby crying because of that darn buzzer!
The buzzer is attached to the timer with a quick connect post. Access the controls by unscrewing the large panel above the washer door. You will need a square screwdriver or a very small flathead and some vice grips to get it started. The panel will fall forward onto the washer. In mine there was a pouch with an electrical diagram of the unit. To release the controls, two more screws must be removed from the sides of the small panel housing the controls. Once again you need a square screwdriver or a very small flathead and some vice grips to get it started. Once these are out you should be able to lift the control panel up and it will fall forward. Get a small box or stand to put on the washer. This will support the panel as the wires are not that long. On the left side of the timer controls you will see a quick connect post marked with an "H". Disconnect this wire and your problems are solved. Beautiful silence! I put electrical tape on the quick connect wire. Not sure if I needed to as I'm not an electrician. Hope this helps.

I just did this; Zard's solution was not quite the same as mine. After removing the control panel (will drop and hang once you pull down on the two spring loaded posts), I located a part that looked like this:
There were two black leads hooked to it. I simply disconnected them and taped the tips with electrical tape.
Voila. Annoying buzzer is gone (detached).
