Well 1st it would load up to the logon page but the page would be completely black with no cursor an all i could do was turn it off an back on....an now it wont even laod up soon as it does it says windows failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. to fix the problem:
!. insert your windows installation disc an restart your computer.
2. choose your language settings an then click next.
3. click repair your computer.
If you do not have this disc contact your system admin or computer manufacteror for assistance.

So ya i have no clue on what to do,when it comes to computers im fairly retarted so easy to follow help would be nice :-)

When you run the Startup Repair from your Vista CD you get that error "No OS files found on disk."correct?
Instead of choosing the Startup Repair option try the System Restore option and see if i allows you to take the computer back to another day ,if it gives you an error then choose the other option that says Command Prompt ,it will load to a blinking white cursor.
Type in the following and press Enter key after each one:
bootrec.exe /fixboot
bootrec.exe /fixmbr
When finished Restart the computer and see if it will load normally.
If it doesnt resolve it then it could be a hardware problem on the laptop itself.
