The TV turns on but the remote control stopped working. So, I bought an exact replacment remote and it also does not work. I don't have the manual for the TV. Do I need to program the TV or the remote? How do I do that? If not, what is the problem?

Samsung DVD Remote suddenly stopped working while trying to find Universal Remote Code. Is a button sequence to reprogram the unit??
I wish I had the solutions. My Samsung remote was programmed to operate the Samsung TV, Samsung DVD, Panasonic VCR, and Scientific Atlantia Cable box and they all worked fine for 8 months. Then one day it stopped working for the non-Samsung devices. I got a new replacement Remote Control and it also did not work on the non-samsung devices. Of course I programmmed all of the various manufactureres codes but nothing worked.
I have an RCA TV remote that stopped working. I replaced the batteries, but still doesn't change channels or adjust volume. What do I need to do?
We have the same problem with a Panasonic TV. We have two identical Pansonic remotes for it that used to work and now neither one does.
I have the same problem with mine. I bought a replacement remote also, and like you all it doesn't work either. Now, my channels either switch to another language or the radio on their own, and it's really frustrating trying to watch my shows and it switch languages on me!!! How can I fix this? Universal remotes don't work either!!!!!!
I have the same problem. My LG plasma tv's remote stopped working all of a sudden too. I read somewhere that if you point your remote to any camera and press any buttons on the remote you should be able to see the infrared light in the camera. If you don't see anything then its your remote its dead. But if you do see the red light then somethings wrong with the tv.
