Need captions button. how do I find it? Can't get captions to come up. pressed ALL the buttons not captions. how do I find this feature. I NEED it since I am deaf.

It might be the Subtitle feature not CC(close caption) that you are viewing. The following is the procedure for a Samsung player. Other players would follow a similar procedure.

1. Press the MENU button on your remote control.
2. Use the navigation buttons to highlight System.
3. Highlight Accessibility.
4. Press the right navigation button again to access the Accessibility options, highlight Subtitle and then press the ENTER button.
5. Press the ENTER button again, highlight Off and then press the ENTER button once again.

What is the TV source? For some sources (set top box), you may need to turn on the captions using the menus of the box.

Assuming you are using a source that gives captions that the TV can interpret, if you have the Proscan 26LA30Q remote, press the CC button to toggle through the caption options. Another route is to press Menu (either on the remote or the buttons on the side of the TV) then select the Feature submenu with the left/right arrows. Press Enter (menu when you use the buttons on the TV) then navigate to the Digital Closed Captions option. Here you can set the captions to on and adjust the size, style and color of the captions when they appear on-screen.

If you are using a universal remote, try the CC button. If it doesn't work, try another code for the Proscan TV on the remote. There are some codes that may not control all of the functions of the TV with the remote.

That's a text box not pip. Press the cc button repeatedly on your remote control or go into your menu and find the closed captioning setting. There may not be a menu item for closed captioning. It might be a button on the remote only. You should be able to scroll through the closed captioning options when pressing the cc button to choose off. You are more likely in the text1 or text2 mode right now. If I am wrong and it is pip there should be a pip button that will enable you to turn this feature off (or a menu option). If you need the remote that originally came with this television try http://www.replacementremotes.com/

There is a Menu button on the TV for the TS2554 C101. Press this button to get the OSD menu. Then press the vol +/- buttons to highlight Set. Use the Ch +/- buttons to get Closed Caption. Then press Vol+ or Vol - to get the closed caption menu. Use the Ch+/- buttons to set the desired closed caption setting and then press Vol + or Vol - to confirm the selection. Press Menu again to exit.

This will only help if the captions are being interpreted by the TV. If there are open captions, they will not go away. If the closed captioning is on at a set top box, you will need to turn them off using the controls for the set top box. (I know satellite receivers have independent captions available.)

I hope this helps. If your TV doesn't have a menu button on the set, you will need a remote that has a matching Menu function. Some universal remotes should have this feature.

With our VIP receiver models, you have an option to turn on/off closed caption through the receiver. Press the Menu button on the remote, which will display the Main Menu on the TV screen. Press 8 (Preferences) and then press 6 (Closed Caption). On the Closed Caption screen, press 1. On the Closed Caption On/Off screen, select CC Off and then press Done from the TV screen (using your DISH remote). This will turn the feature off on the receiver. Test to see if it is turned off by watching a program that has CC. If it still appears, then the feature is activated through your TV. Please refer to your TV manual to turn the feature off. To enable close cationing on your TV follow this:-

[1] Press "Menu" button on the remote control to appear "Setup" menu on the screen.
[2] Use "Up and Down" arrows on the remote contol to select "Captions/Text" on your screen.
[3] Press "Right or Left " arrows to select any one of the following options. Caption-1, Caption-2, Caption-3, Caption-4 Text-1, Text-2, Text-3, Text-4.
[4] Press enter to return TV viewing.

To turn the caption feature to "On" or "Off'

[1] Press menu key on the remote control to display "Setup" menu.
[2] Using "UP/DOWN" buttons to select captions on your screen.
[3] Press "Right or Left" arrow to switch the captions feature 'ON" or "OFF" or "EZ Mute"
[4] Press enter to continue.
Ok.

CC (Closed Caption)
Press the down button to highlight the CC (Closed Caption) selection.
Press the > button. A separate menu will appear with the following CC
settings

When watching regular analog (NTSC) TV, the CC feature is available in the
Setup menu.
Press the down button to highlight the CC selection.
Press the > button to select CC1, CC2, CC3 or CC4.
Once the adjustments are completed press the LAST button repeatedly to exit
the OSD completely.
Closed Caption for regular TV is usually CC1 or CC2.

Press the menu button on the front panel of the tv or the remote control. Use the up and down arrows to find the features section.Press the right arrow to enter the sub-menu for the features section. It sounds like you have the closed captioning turned on. Your remote control may have a button marked 'CC'. If so, press the button repeatedly until the words disappear. If you do not have a CC button then you will have to go into the TV's menu, also called setup on some sets, and turn the closed captioning off.

Assuming whatever your TV receiving from has close caption. (Not all TV channel has close caption) Solution 1) Get a new universal remote that support your model and has close caption button. Once you program in the code for your TV model and it works then all button should also programmed including th close caption button. Solution 2) Search online for the owner manual and read see how to turn it on using buttons on TV (if possible). Solution 3) Get new TV with close caption. (If you have an old old TV with bad and huge pixels then this solution is the best. Your eyes will thank you.)
