Child lock is on lg tv and have lost the remote

You'll probably need to use the remote control to access the TV's settings menu to deactivate the child lock feature.

Possibly, you will need an original remote to disable or turn off this feature. And some child lock can be accessible through neither MENU of your tv or remote. Check CHILD LOCK option to remove it. If it is a screen lock type of CHILD LOCK feature of tv (a Blue Background display a LOCK icon) and your original remote is lost, try a universal remote for you to possibly unlock it. Try entering code 0000 or 1234 for the child lock.

Otherwise try holding down the DISPLAY key on the remote or on the front of the tv for 10 seconds to disengage the child lock.

Otherwise unplug the power cord and leave it out for a few hours to clear the internal memory and reset to original settings.

As the remote is not working please

1.check the batteries are properly installed with correct polarity.(+ and -)

2.Check weather correct remote operating is set.(TV,VCR etc)

If both are OK then please programm your remote again with the TV.As you removed your battries it might reset the code



When using buttons on TV it says CHILD LOCK is ON.

Child lock fuction is to prevent children operating buttons in TV console. This can be set only by remote. Cannot set by TV console Buttons.If this fuction is activated you cannot use the TV console buttons.

well then you will have to take the tv to a fixing place to get the lock removed and then buy a universal remote or find the one you've lost

hi..To do a Child Lock, follow these steps:

1. Turn on your TV.
2. On the remote, press the Menu button. The Set-Up Menu appears.
3. Scroll to the Key Lock function and set function to Off.
4. Press the Exit button to exit....

You cannot unlock the TV without the remote. It will require a numeric password that you gave it and that can be only done with the remote. You can get a universal remote to do this without waiting for a replacement from LG/ZENITH

Go to the channel where Child Lock is ON
Press " --- " Key ( below channel 9 button) for few seconds,
Child Lock will be OFF
Press again Tune Lock will be OFF.

PRESS MENU BUTTON THEN UP / DOWN BUTTON TO SELECT SPECIAL MENU THEN TURN CHILD LOCK OFF
