Question about Western Digital Caviar WD2500BB 250 GB Hard Drive
My hd was working fine, but nowdays when i try to copy something to it then it stops working and then if i restart the pc it won't work until i turn off the pc. after that when i turn it on it start working but the problem remains
help me guys
I would check out a program called "HD Tune" and go to the S.M.A.R.T Tab and check "reallocated sectors and pending." If this is happening when you write to the drive; it could be the power supply in the computer and/or ram chips. Typically, reboots only happen when power drops.

Open a command prompt, go to programs accessories and click on command prompt, type in chkdsk /f/r
then press enter
it will ask you if you want to run this next to the computer starts, say yes then restart the computer. This may take a long time when it starts, but it will fix any bad sectors on the hard drive. Once this is completed hopefully your hard drive will work more proficiently.
