GE WHRE5260E Top Load Washer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Aug 26, 2013

I put in an unbalanced load and it ate the belt up. I replaced it and now it will go all the way to spin cycle make a few revolutions and turn off. Then I will hear a switch reset and it will turn on again but the same thing happens. Almost like a limit switch pops but I dont know where to look. Also there is remaining water in the washer and the belt might be a little too small. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: drain pump starts and stops prior to final spin cycle

Jayron, is the motor jogging? start to spin, stop, start to spin stop. If so, your motor is jogging between the high and low start windings. The motor during spin should start on the high speed windings and stay there until most of the water is drained. GE came out with a new motor, harness and run cap because of this. If you have a meter, there should be a white and white/red wire going to the motor. If you have a steady 120V and it's doing this jogging, replace the motor with the kit...Let me know if this the issue, Catriver..post back.

I have a GE MODEL WWSe5240G0WW top loader washer that has seen very little use. My problem is that the unit will not agitate or spin, every thing else seems to work ok. I did remove the top lid switch and jumped the to wires (Yellow/Red and Orange) still did not make any difference. Any in for would be great.

SOURCE: Walking during the spin cycle

My GE front load washer model WCVH6800JBB have the same problem. I just purchased and installed it yesterday, 05/04/09. Just like everyone said... when it got to the spinning cycle it walked to the middle of my garage and all the connections in the back of the machine fell off. My husband checked the instruction... There are 4 nut bolts in the back of the machine near the rubber leg (level). You need to take them off and try to balance your machine again. My washer is running very smooth now. Good luck!

SOURCE: Washer won't agitate or spin out.

Well it is ethier Belt, Cluch ,motor ,Or transmission. But it does sound like your transmission . The loud clunk is the brake in the gear case ( Trans.). It might have broken off.

Look in the pump and see if maybe something is clogging it. Check the belt.
This video shows how to get into the washer.

Why won't my washing machine spin?

There could be several reasons why your Crosley washing machine is not spinning properly during a regular cycle. Here are some possible causes:
  1. Unbalanced load: If the load of laundry is not evenly distributed in the drum, it can cause the machine to become unbalanced and not spin properly. Try rearranging the clothes and see if that helps.
  2. Drive belt: The drive belt may be worn, loose or broken, preventing the machine from spinning. Check the belt and replace if necessary.
  3. Motor coupling: The motor coupling connects the motor to the transmission. If it is broken or worn out, the machine may not spin. Inspect the coupling and replace it if necessary.
  4. Lid switch: The lid switch prevents the machine from spinning if the lid is open. If the switch is faulty, the machine may not spin. Test the switch for continuity and replace it if necessary.
  5. Motor: If the motor is faulty or burned out, the machine may not spin. Test the motor for continuity and replace it if necessary.
If you are unsure of how to check or replace any of these parts, it is recommended to consult a qualified technician.

Clothes coming out soaking wet

put it in the spin cycle and if nothing is coming out the drain hose it is most likely the drain pump ....just a fyi some are easier than others to replace.
I don't see the make and model of this machine so to give you specifics I can't. just general directions.
also I would check under the dasher there is a screen under there if you wash DIRTY clothes and maybe add a case of dog/cat hair it could be restricting the flow but wouldn't stop it totally.
also another fyi if you do get to that point use a toothbrush to clean it as you don't want to poke any holes in it.
Hope this helps.

How do I get my machine to just spin a load? It became unbalanced and I adjusted it and now just want to spin the water out?

Turn power on. Without selecting a cycle, push the spin speed button to select the spin speed you desire. (if you had an unbalanced load, I'd suggest a low spin speed. You can repeat after with the next higher speed if desired) Push start.
This will give about a 12 to 14 minute pump and spin only cycle.

My Magtag Performa washer has been shaking in the spin cycle very violently lately. The floor has not changed, so I can't blame an uneven floor. I'm assuming the belt may need to be tighten or replaced. ...

first I would check your drain pump.. you may have something blocking the water flow... this will cause the water not to fully drain and your machine will have a out of balance load...a loose belt will just slip and make noise,,,

there is a panel in the back you can remove to check the drain pump...let me know if this is helpful...

Whirlpool washer front loader model LHW0050PQ

This is not a Malber machine but the following fix has worked for the Malber washer. Try unplugging the machine for at least 2 minutes. Do not just turn it off as there is still current going to the machine .This should clear the computer. If this does not work, the imbalance may have overloaded the circuit board requiring replacement.
