Be careful that it isn't a scam.
Some people will claim non-functionality hoping to get a refund without having to return the perfectly working unit.
It's possible it was damaged in shipping, but unlikely if it was packed well.

If they are demanding a refund, tell them that your policy is like any other - they need to return the unit, and once you have verified that the unit is indeed defective, you will issue a refund.

hook, to a regular monitor to see if its your laptop screen or video drivers might have to hit a fn key and combo check your manual

just check up your rca chord maybe loose connection or defective rca chord. in audio only

older unit sounds like the laser is bad. usually to expensive to repair. new sonys start at 40.00

dear try to change the battery ,if still it doesnt work then ...i need nt tell you that ur camcorder is dead ,.. and for that .....
their are circuit protector (commonly known as fuse) in DD board which supplies the power to the VC board ..
and for repairing the DD board to need to take to the service center as their is allot minor soldering work to be done on the board.

try cleaning it first.

swap over the display from the other drawer and see if it works cheers

Camcorder has one board as power board as follows..
A-7073-416-A DD-105(VMMI) BOARD, COMPLETE
Part available in Part Store and price is too much (more then camera worth)
Better to get new camcorder.

If your disc spins and seems to load up you have a bad Video output connector problem or bad A/v Cable. If your system does not boot up, the Motherboard is shot. Click on " REpair Directory" at the bottom of this screen and find a Playstation Repair shop to help you out. They will be listed under "Video Game Consoles" in the directory.
