First you have to hit the plus(more heat) and minus (more cool) and hit off twice then the unit should show c1 and wait till it shows L5 the hit the plus sign till you get to zero then hit off.

Unplug it, or turn the breaker off for 3 minutes, unit should restart.

The heat pump of my Amana PTAC will not engage on heat mode. All thermistor are new, no error code flashes, but I did notice on my configuration the C5 tell the temperature but also flashes 09?

Hydronic switch open 9 E9 Hydronic switch open (if hydronic configured) - either the aquastat is defective, or the aquastat wiring is cut, or the aquastat is not present at all and the aquastat wires were not permanently connected together as per the set-up instructions.

PTAC Blows Cold Air in Heating Mode when it reaches -3F less than the Set Value on the Thermostat - Model: AZ65H15DABW6

It sounds like your PTAC (packaged terminal air conditioner) unit is malfunctioning. When the thermostat is set to heating mode, the PTAC should be blowing warm air, not cold air. There are a few possible causes for this issue:
  1. The PTAC may be low on refrigerant. If the unit is low on refrigerant, it may not be able to properly heat the air.
  2. The PTAC's reversing valve may be stuck in the cooling position. The reversing valve is responsible for switching the flow of refrigerant between heating and cooling mode. If it is stuck in the cooling position, the PTAC will blow cold air even when the thermostat is set to heating mode.
  3. The PTAC's heating element may be malfunctioning. If the heating element is not functioning properly, the PTAC will not be able to heat the air.
I recommend contacting a trained HVAC technician to diagnose and fix the issue with your PTAC. They will be able to determine the cause of the problem and repair it properly.

Amana pth153a35ac

The first 3 answers were from idiots. If a person had read her problem they would understand that it is not a oven / stove, but a PTAC unit that heats and cools a room. This type of unit is what is commonly seen in hotels and motels where the individual heating / cooling system is in each room.

Installed Amana PTAC DigiSmart unit in a patio room, a entertainment bar is located about three feet (3) in front of unit and not the room. The unit only heat and cool the area between unit and the bar...

I have seen this happen many times and if you cannot relocate the bulb of the thermostat to keep it form short cycling, I have mounted a wall thermostat and disconnected the thermostat in the PTAC and wired it in to the wall stat. You may have to install a wall stat in the center of the room away from the bar.
