One way is to drill a hole in the broken part then drive screw in alittle ways and try to unscrew or pull out with the screw.

SOURCE: Any ideas on how to remove a stuck 1300 series

Did the plastic break off? Is the faucet in limbo and useless? Is there a retaining ring, nut, something holding it on there? How about getting a piece of pvc pipe that will fit in the hole there, cut the ends with tin snips, pliers, band saw, jig saw, whatever you have available, to fit in the holes and turn the thing out of there. Or better yet would be a piece of copper pipe, something stronger. Check it out.

Most valves DO NOT have a model number. What you will need to do is remove the cartridge and take it to your local hardware store and they will match it up for you. WARNING please be sure to shut off the main water supply line to the house before removing cartridge. Some cartridges have their own water cut off screw buit into them.

Leaky faucet--can't get the cartridge out to clean or replace. It is a single lever with side spray and sits on an oblong panel--looks like camerist 7840

Sounds like qa Moen or Delta fauect. each brand has there name on it. If it is Moen you need to buy a Cartridge Puller at your local store that has plumbing supplys. You must remove the handle, expose the U clip and remove it then use the puller to extract the old cartridge. The clean the inside and lube with a food base lube and re install the new one.

Hope this works for you best of luck

Can a RP19804 be used to replace RP46074?

Hello,

They are not interchangeable as the two plastic tubes at the wall end with the O-rings are of different length and width. Compare here:

How do you remove the handle from a classic delta single handle tub faucet? I don't see a way to take off the handle itself to replace the cartridge.

On most delta models you pop the cap in the center of the handle. Then there is a screw to remove the handle. If it is old the bonnet can be hard to remove. Be careful, as you don't want to damate the complete faucet behind the wall.

Hello. Delta uses a replaceable cartridge inside the faucet. Most commonly they will drip if they are going bad. There is very little you can do to repair the cartridge but replacement is affordable. Usually by removeing the handle and the next trim piece you'll be at the cartridge which should pull out but may be stubborn due to water deposits.Take the part with you when you go shopping, there are many different cartridges.

How to install Delta T17030 Innovations Collection Single Handle Tub/Shower Trim Chrome by my self

http://www.deltafaucet.com/media/Product_Tech_Docs/Maint_Installation/50001to80000/51975RevE_13943.pdf

New Install:

1. Shut off the water.
2. Remove Plastic rough-in spacer. It's black and it's only there for roughing in, and so the tilers don't come too close.
3. Unscrew silver retaining nut - should only be hand tight. Remove and discard grey cap that was being held is place by nut. Remove and discard plastic stopper inside faucet.
4. Take grey plastic disk off of cartridge and DO NOT THROW AWAY. Adjust gearing/splines to hottest temp by rotating plastic insert. Reinstall plastic disk.
5. Install cartridge with HOT lettering to LEFT. Secure with Silver Nut.
6. Slide large O-Ring over silver nut.
7. Install trim plate using long phillips(star) screws provided (2)
8. Slide Plastic spacer (looks like a snowflake) into chrome trim (cylinder) and slide cylinder over Silver Nut.
9. Install handle by tightening allen screw until it engages firmly with cartridge.

Changing Existing Trim:

As Above Except Old Trim Must Be Removed First. Cartridges Are Specific To Certain Trims. Even More So If Installation Is Over 3 Years Old. 3 Years Ago, Delta Went To The "Universal Rough-In" Which Made Things A Little Easier Because The Appropriate Cartidge Now Comes With The Appropriate Trim.
