if you are using a ppoe connection then save your isp account user name/password in the modem weather it be a cable modem or a dsl modem and then setup and configure your access point device and SAVE your settings in the device. if you using a dhcp connection from isp modems then just connect your access point device and setup amd configure your settings and SAVE them as well. the only thing that i can think of is that you are not saving your settings and configurations. then when you you loose power the device reverts back to the default settings. also note that if there is some kind of "auto-configuartion" in the access point you may want to change that to manual configuration and create a new user name/password for your access point as well. please you MUST be hardwired connection when setting up the access point for the first time. please refer to the user guide for your access point for more detailed help on settings and configurations and how to save them in your device.

Yes...there are lots of things you need to tweak. Contact Motorola Support (they bought Symbol) at 1-800-653-5350. You may need to create a script to run with the CISCO AP's...Symbol defaults to their own Access Point settings. Good Luck. If you need further help, our company, qdata, can help (for a fee)
You can connect a console cable to the console port and login using a freeware terminal emulation app such as Tera Term Pro. The default password is: Symbol

Use chapter 5 for instructions on creating a new authentication key that will match your computer setting.
on the info i could find it only supports WEP.
but if your issue is to be more secure look up if it supports a sort of mac filter.
this will only keep everybody out of your router but your signal will only be WEP encrypted.
