Just got my olympus camedia c 3020 zoom camera on ebay, too. I am playing around with the camera, trying to see how it works. Well, when I turn it on & put it to "p", it says "no card". I turn it off, & enter the memory card. Turn it back on, & it says "no picture". On the top window next to the power button, there is an exclamation point & "000" flashing. Well, if the memory card has "no picture", how am I supposed to take pictures with the camera if it is not letting me go further? Thank you for your help & have a great day, everybody.

SOURCE: Olympus digital camera won't turn on

The type of batteries that you use will make a difference. You didn't specify what type of batteries that you've been using. If you haven't been using lithium batteries, I would try some of those. You can find them anywhere they sell batteries. They're the energizer e2 ones. Usually in a blue package. They're a little more expensive than the regular alkaline ones, but they're better for digital devices and they'll last a lot longer.

SOURCE: Olympus xD-Picture Card "Card Error"

First things first - need to make sure that the card is making proper electrical contact with the camera. Have a look at the contacts at the edge of the card and make sure they are spotlessly clean - even a fingerprint may cause problems.

Also, make sure the contacts in the camera have nothing causing a contact problem, and see if this resolves the issue.

Regards, Andy

SOURCE: My new memory card will not work for the Olympus Camedia D-560

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb card is not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.

Is there a cord I need to get the pictures off my Olympus camedia c 3020 camera? I have no idea how to use my camera. I bought it as is off ebay.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I have an Olympus C-3020 zoom. I am trying to buy a smartmedia card for it. The ones I find listed show 3.3 volts, mine however says 6 volts,, is this a problem, I can't seem to find one that says 6...

  • Not aware of a 6v card this is old school technology and I thought they only made 3.3 and 5v cards to be comparable with PC voltage - this was the new floppy in the day.
  • A notched top corner on the left side, when facing the front of the card, indicates a 5 volt card. A notched top corner on the right side, when facing the front of the card, indicates a 3.3 volt card.

Error code olympus c4040 zoom

At this point it sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Ok button - right arrow to Mode Menu - down arrow to Card tab - right arrow to card setup - right arrow to format option. You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the card and it can be used again. Make sure you download all images prior to formatting as once the card is cleared all data is lost.
