I decided to try the TV again, after it sat for the day. I plugged it back in, turned it on from the tv panel. It came on picture and sound was fine. Within 10 minutes, everything stopped, went blue. I did the same today, same thing happened. It will not stay on. Any solutions?

Sounds like it is over heating. in side the tv there is 2 square box cannot remember the colour but they are yellow or blue near to a heat sink chip. if you change them it may just be that fault. Bush tv's suffer from this problem.
Check input signal comming in, is there any?With another tv see if u have cable or free air signal.All that check,than ur backlight inverter board is dead.

A high pitch sound can be a capacitor losing power it would sound a bit like a fire work. most have back up on the board but it put more pressure on them the more times you use the tv. would check them and replace. all of them can be 5 in a row in some models.
Make a hard reset to this set and try. Unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it after 15 minutes or so. This will make the TV to a hard reset.
unplug your sat box for 1 minutes and plug it back in. its a problem with your satelite company or the wiring connecting the box and the tv. tv is fine.
It is not you tv its the plug on theb wall. It is probably loose, and causing the intermittent problem you are having. You may notice looseness as you plug it into the wall. Your TV is fine.
Good Day;
Try unplugging the TV & cable/sat box from wall for at least 4-5 minutes, reset/reboot, plug all back into a/c again.
99.5 % of the time the problem you are experiencing is the signl source, be it cable sat or phone.
Good luck, BIG Irish.
litigation- O.k if your tv is cycling through the menu ect. it sounds like you have a bad tact switch.Try pressing the contol panel buttons repeatedly,most of the time the remote is used so the tact switches go bad. Try this out ,it may help to clean the contacts. Just make sure you press them alot,it helps most of the time,if not you may wind up in the repair shop.Have fun and let me know. cooltek Mar,4/08
how many times it flashes?? if its more than 6 times you have a problem. just lick the red wire that goes to the picture tube.if it does not kill you, you are lucky
yes it could ba the cable itself even, but i suspect more the tuner circuit or tuner itself may have bad solder connections. Here is another test for you to try, plug another dvd or vcr, or xbox etc. into the back, using one odf the inputs. See if this works like the built in dvd. if so it will be more likely bad connections in the tuner or surrounding circuit.
good luck.
