If the rco keeps blowing then there must be some other reason, check that the compressor is not completely dead. Compressor is under warranty for at least three years after purchase.
The older style compressor relays work differently than the newer style compressor relays. The RCO 3-1 relay kits work great on older refrigerators but can/will/could cause problems on the newer style ones.
Dante, Please do not spend any more money on that Amana. It is clear once the Technician said that the compressor is near its life's end that he knows what he is talking about. Try to spend money that you have now for something that is nice without electronics like digital read out or electronic defrost control. They last longer without all the problems most people run into when they have all those beautiful gadget's. Search Google most dependable refrigerators without electronics. Do not go by Consumer reports because honestly I believe they are not honest. Or tell me what you would like and I will do my best to find you something that will last beyond the warranty, please if you have questions please ask. My e-mail is [email protected] and my website is http://appliance911seabreeze.com/, Let me know if this helps answer your question, Thank You, John Tripp/AKA Sea Breeze

Thanks for the reply, but. The fridge is a ARB1917 CSL which is only a few years old. I replaced the relay when it first produced only a hum and no cold air. Then I added the rco 410, which lasted about two months. Now what are the options?
Thanks: Gil
