In most cases the HDMI issues are the source itself. Try another item like a DVD player or BluRay player. If they work then its a compatibility issue. If they don't then the HDMI receiver board in the TV is bad. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

Generally when you see no life at all the problem will be in the main power section or the power source.
The cheap things to try are just to try another outlet as well as reconnecting the power cord. Sometimes those will be just loose enough. If you are very lucky this is all it is.
Normally when the tv is dead the problem is in the main power section or an internal fuse has popped. The power section requires replacement as there are no easy to fix parts on it. The fuses can be replaced but that may just pop again as the cause may still exist. As an example the power supply could have a problem that popped the fuse so if you replace the fuse it will work just long enough to go out again.
What you need to do is check to see if you have any warranty. This might be Toshiba or perhaps a extended store warranty. If you have warranty then you just need to talk to the store or Toshiba or drop it off to a repair depot or authorized service centre. To find out if you have warrenty you need to dig out your sales receipt and call the store. They will tell you if you are covered and by who. If you are not covered then this becomes a bit trickier. This is not a cheap repair so you need to get a estimate only. You also want to know what the price is of a replacement tv. The repair for a main power board can be over $500 (and more) depending on the model. So there isn't any sense to repair it if it's a hundred or so cheaper to just get a new one. Wish I had a better fix than this for you but there really isn't one.
First if a "new" set and if in warranty--have them deal with the problem.
If nothing on remote except on and off works--it is a micro problem (microprocessor) in the set.
I assume you did unplug the set---wait and plug it back as that could allow the micro to reset.
The key clue here is nothing on remote works except on/off?
