You need to contact a local TV repair service, UNLESS you have the tools and the repair manual to repair it yourself, it will take diagnostic work to determine what is the cause, one thing is for sure you have a defective circuit board.
My lg 37lc7d is having the same problem. My backlight is on but no display. Also the standby light blinks several times then the screen goes on but it's just all black. No a/v
You need to find out if the remote is puttimg out IR pulses or not using a digital camera, just point the remote at the camera lens, when you push any remote button, you should see flashing on the camera screen.
The white/yellow/red cables is solely your DVD to TV cable connection, If you play a DVD do you get the DVD picture? It looks as if you do not have the connection from the cable going into your TV input (aerial connector). If this is connected then you have to retune your TV. this is done by the Menu-set up button on the remote.
If everything else on the remote works, most likely the PWR function on the remote is not working.
This may be a problem with the conductive rubber membrane under the button, or the matracy circuit is not reading the function due to any number of problems.
You can call the manufacture parts rep to see if it is possible to have parts for the remote. Most of the time, they are not worth to service, and parts are not sold to support remote control service. You will most likely have to order a new remote from the manufacture rep.
I suggest to NOT buy a universal remote. They rarely can do more than the most basic functions. Many times universal remotes have different issues with different models of sets.
I heard that Best Buy is still selling these models despite this known problem- I am trying to have mione fixed but was told the replacement part is on back order until DECEMBER!
