You can cancel a print job from within Windows by going to Control Panel -> Printers and double-clicking on the appropriate printer. Right-click the print job you want to cancel and select Cancel from the context menu. Anything already sent to the printer will continue to print.

You can also cancel a print job from the printer by pressing Cancel on the control panel. This applies to whatever is currently printing.
(You may want to remove any paper from the paper tray first.)

Clicking the cancel print icon stops the job from continuing to spool, but whatever is still in the printer's memory will continue to print until exhaused or the job is cancelled from the printer's control panel.

Brother HL2130 press print and i want to stop the printing how to i pause or cancel printing do i just open the lid or can't be cancelled i tried to search via settings but unable to locate thankyou

most likely it has gone into the printer's memory.
Turn off printer at power point.
CHECK COMPUTER FOR PRINTER QUEUE
Also check computer for printers icon on right bottom of screen and click on it to open the printer queue.
Then cancel print job if in Windows operating system's printer pool.
Turn printer back on at power point
If you can't find the printer queue go to printer settings in the control panel of the p.c and find the printer queue.

If this is not possible for you to find.
Go to services (in control panel) if windows operating system and find the print spooler service and restart the service .

My pixma MX450 has stopped printing. I have tried cancelling jobs in queue but it still says there is one job remaining

Do you have more than one user on the system? If yes then maybe they have something in their queue.

Printer was working, but is not now. All cables are hooked up properly and have been disconnected and reconnected. I have several documents in the memory to be printed, but the printer will not respond. ...

Here are four things you can try; may not have to perfom all:

Check to see if your printer is off-Line

1.Open the Printers, Printer and Faxes, or Device and Printers folder.

To do this:

Windows XP users; Click on Start > Settings > Printers an Faxes or Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.

Windows Vista users; Click on Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Printers.

Windows 7 users; Click on Start > Device and Printers.

2.Right-click on the printer object (icon), and select Use Printer Online.

3.Microsoft Windows 7 users will double-click on icon, select printer and then de-select Use Printer Offline.

Printer Paused

The printer or print queue is paused and the print queue icon remains in the notification area ('systray') of the task bar.

Explanation:This is typically an end user error. Hint: Dragging the mouse cursor over the print queue icon in the notification area will reveal (1,2,3) document(s) pending for (User name).

What to do:

•Double-click on the print queue icon to open the print queue.
•Click on Printer in the upper left-hand corner of the menu bar.
•Is there a check mark next to Pause Printing?

-If yes, click on Pause Printing to turn off this Windows feature.

-If no, confirm that there is a check mark next to Set As Default Printer and make sure Use Printer Offline is not selected.

Delete print jobs from the print queue

Access the print queue.

Delete all print jobs

• Click on Printer in the toolbar and then click on Cancel All Documents,
or
• Right-click in the print queue and select Cancel All Documents from the pop-up menu.

You can also delete individual print jobs

1.Highlight the individual job in the print queue by clicking on it.

2.Right-click on the highlighted job and select Cancel from the pop-up menu.

IMPORTANT! If a job is stuck in the print queue and cannot be deleted or canceled using the above steps, there may be an issue with the printer spooler that controls the printing options in Windows. If you observe this symptom, it may be necessary to stop and restart the print spooler; then retrun to delete print jobs.

7
The following two options are available to stop and start the print spooler:

•Click once on Print Spooler to highlight it, and then click on the Stop or Start links in the right-hand window pane,

How do you cancel a printing command?

Have you tried right clicking on the printer icon in your taskbar (bottom right), opening up the queue, and cancelling that way?

My printer will not print. When you check the status of the document it says printing. When you cancel that it doesn't cancel. DAYS later the document prints all by itself. What's that about?

It's because the print queue is saved on the printer's flash memory. This happens when you don't cancel the queues properly or terminated improperly. To get rid of the issue, always try to give the command slowly and don't over load. If you are printing photos, try to make the file size small so that it'll not take long to spool and prepare for printing.

When the problem occurs, so as follows:

Cancel the queues from the print status box ("Cancel all documents"), if they are not cancelled, then turn off the printer (directly unplug the power cord from the printer), it you still see the printing status, keep on cancelling until everything's gone.

If the problem persists, restart your computer. Definitely the problem will be fixed.

It's also important to press the cancel button while the printer powers On.

Good luck.

Then go to Start> Control panel> Printers and faxes> and check to see if the icon say 0Ready> if yes right click on the icon and left lick on Properties and then in the bottom you will see a tab which says print test page> click and see if it prints a test page.
Then try printing any document.

I have (4) documents to print, but it won't print. It says: 4 document(s) pending owner

To cancel a print job in Windows you can use one of the following two methods:

CANCELLING A PRINT JOB WITH THE PROGRESS METER:
When you send a print job to the printer, the Status Monitor will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen. Another printer icon for the PROGRESS METER will also appear in the taskbar while printing is taking place. This PROGRESS METER is there so you can manage print priorities or cancel print jobs.

1. Highlight the print job in the PROGRESS METER box.
2. Click on DOCUMENT and CANCEL, or, right click on the job name and left click CANCEL or DELETE.
3. Confirm cancelling the print job.

CANCELLING A PRINT JOB FROM THE PRINTERS WINDOW:
If no PROGRESS METER appears, you can access the document queue in this fashion:

1. Open START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS (START, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTERS and FAXES in Windows XP).
2. Right click on your Epson printer name, left click PURGE PRINT JOBS (98,ME), or CANCEL ALL DOCUMENTS (2000,XP). (Or, double-click on the printer name to see and modify the status of documents in queue.)
3. Confirm cancelling all documents.

Keep in mind that once information has been sent to the printer it resides in the spooling folders within Windows. It may a while for printing to stop as this data clears the system.

If the printer continues to print (ie multiple copies of a cancelled job, or garbled print) remove the rest of the paper from the printer and allow it to run out. Once an "out of paper" type error appears on your screen, cancel the documents. Once all print job information has deleted, reload the paper and press the paper feed button once to clear the red light and return the printer to a ready state.
