How to change japanese to english language in Lumix dmc zx3 camera change...

Slide the REC/PLAYBACK selector switch to the camera symbol. Set the mode dial to the camera symbol. Press the MENU/SET button. Use cursor-up/down to select the next-to-last item on the menu (it will have a head-and-speech-bubble symbol).

Press the MENU button to bring up the menu. Select Setup (the wrench icon), then select the head with the speech bubble.

I have the DMC-TZ5, this is how I do it on mine...
Press the menu button in the middle of arrow pad
Press Left arrow
Press Down arrow (highlights spanner)
Press right arrow
Press down arrow 4 times to select language (icon of person with speech bubble)
Press right arrow
Press up until you highlight English (5 times on mine)
Press menu button again to select
Press menu button again to exit menu

That should be it!

Select menu
Select spanner(wrench) for setup menu.
Scroll down through the menu, there are five pages of menu items on my camera! it moves to a new page when you move off the bottom.
The language option is the penultimate item - it has an icon of a head with a speech bubble.
