    What does error 1106 indicate?

First please find your PC network settings: Step 1/ : How to check your PC network settings: Using the PC that is already networked to the same network router, please carry out the following procedure. On the PC desktop click Start then click Run now type in cmd and click OK (with Vista/ Windows 7, type Run in the search field located at the bottom left of the desktop and then open Run and type cmd) At the command prompt type ipconfig then press enter/return on the keyboard. The computer will now display setting figures which will look like but not the same as the following examples below. IP Address: 192.168.01 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Internet Gateway: 192.168.11 Now that the PC network setting figures have been located, the Sony networked product must also be checked to see if the setting figures are the same as those found on your PC. Step 2/ : How to check the Sony product network settings: Using the Remote control press Home/Menu Go to Settings Go to Network press OK Go to Network Set-up press OK Go to View Network Status press OK All the figures shown on the Sony product should match with those on your PC apart from the last 3x figures of the IP Address. The last 3x figures of the IP address sequentially differ due to each networked product having a slightly different IP address, this is normal. Depending on the outcome please see either A/ or B/ below. A/ DO MATCH : PC and Sony product setting figures DO MATCH If the PC and Sony networked product setting figures match but there are still networking issues please do not go to STEP 3 but contact Sony support. Details are listed below and titled Sony Support. B/ DO NOT MATCH : PC and Sony product setting figures DO NOT MATCH If any of the setting figures differ (apart from the IP address as explained above) then that would indicate that there was a problem during the network set up. To resolve this, both the Sony product and router will need to be Reset and the Network set up process started again. Please continue to STEP 3. Step 3/ : How to reset the Sony product and router: Reset the Sony product Using the Remote control press Home/Menu Go to Settings Go to System Settings and press OK Go to General Set-up and press OK Go to Factory Settings and press OK Restore Factory Settings and press YES Once this has been completed turn the TV off at the mains and then switch back on again. Reset the router Usually, press any reset button on the router, or switch off and on at the mains and wait for the lights on the router to settle and become constant. If it is un-clear on how to reset the router, please contact your Internet provider or router manufacturer. Once both products have been reset try the network set up again. Sony Support If there are still networking problems after checking through the procedure above, please contact Sony support with all of the information required as listed below, please call 0844 8466 555 Mon-Fri (9am to 5pm) Sony support will require the following information to help identify any problems that you may have with your network connection. · A full description of the networking problem · IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway (completed using Auto configure only) · Router make and model · Type of security used WEP or WPA · Wired (cable or Home Plug) or Wireless connection. · What actions have been carried out to help resolve the issue already
