Sometimes Granny can't see not because the signal feed to her eyes is interrupted, or inconsistent but because the old girl's mind is gone (or intermittent) and going. Turned her on and off reset, used another monitor on the same cable, my decision, Granny had a long life of usefulness, but out of respect I unplugged her. I'll keep her around for spare parts in some pipedream where I think I could possibly fix an LCD monitor, then and only then will I (or possibly my wife) throw granny out. For our convenience, and mindful of the children Granny's twin will be filling the void (I have like 4 others just collecting dust.)

Toshiba satelite a15-s129 only blinking amber light flashes which will not go off ever. it keeps blinking and computer will not turn on or off.

If the blinking light is the power on LED (normally green), then you'll have to disconnect it from power and pull the battery to get it to stop. If you connect it back to power and the amber light blinks right away, or if you connect it to power, press the power button, and the power LED starts blinking amber, then you have a bad motherboard. I see about one every two years....

If you think this is a keeper (which I do), eBay is probably the best place to buy a whole or partial unit for a song and a dance ($30-$50 target price). The Satellite A10 and A15 series are hardware identical: A10's are corporate offerings with XP Pro, and A15's are nearly all retail offerings with XP Home, that being the only difference.

Power light is blinking green and amber

my power light flashes green/ amber as soon as it is plugged in, with a dead battery. It seems to go to steady amber if the plug is tapped, but goes back to flashing. It will not hold a charge on a new battery.

Do I need a new print head?

5 flashes indicates a faulty printhead or possibly a problem with the p/head contacts. Try removing the head which is easier if you take the cartridges out first(no tools required) and re-seat it having checked the contacts for dirt.

If that doesn't work it may be that the waste ink tank is full. Try this ...

Canon S9000, S300, S400, i550, i560, i850, i860, i865, i9100, i9950, PIXMA iP3000 above,
1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.

Light keeps flashing red,amber, green

If you turn off the printer and turn it back on, do you get any noises, ie motor noises, or does it instantly go to all lights flashing?
If you get no noises this usually indicates a board fault and you should look for a new printer.
