Dell C521 Mic input permanently connected to Audio out put

Hi, I have a Dell C521 Desktop which I want to have permanently connected to my PC speakers. Unfortunately when I plug an external mic into the PC also, it is replyed through the speakers also. Is there an audio setting I can adjust to prevent the mic input being broadcast from the audio outputs?

Cant connect to internet

You need to go here and get all your motherboard drivers:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04

Here's your chipset driver (Install this one first):
http://downloads.dell.com/chipset/nVidia_SMBus_A02_R132919.exe

Here is your Ethernet driver (to connect to the internet):
http://downloads.dell.com/network/R149798.EXE

You will also need to download the correct "Audio" and "Video" drivers. Use the first link I gave you and select your model "Dell Dimension C521" by clicking on the proper selections in the menus that pop up and then look at the list of audio and video drivers and select the ones you have.

Audio format

In control panel, make sure that the mic is properly configured in audio devices (They don't always get assigned properly) so that the correct device is set for recording.

You can test the mic in sound recorder (Just type sound on the search bar, it should appear in the list)
