Make sure the machine is unplugged. On either side of the green motor housing there will be a black plastic disc. Using a medium to large sized flat headed screwdriver turn these anti clockwise until they are fully removed. You will see the back of the brush inside, and all you need to do is hook them out gently. If the carbon part is longer than about 5mm on each one then they should be fine.

My Hitachi C10FS compound miter saw runs very unsteady. Power cuts in and out constantly. I just changed the switch and installed new brushes I

If your Hitachi C10FS compound miter saw is running unsteadily and the power cuts in and out constantly even after installing a new switch and brushes, there may be a few possible reasons for this issue: Loose or damaged connections: Check all the electrical connections in the saw to ensure that they are properly connected and not damaged. Loose or damaged connections can cause intermittent power cuts. Faulty power cord: The power cord could be damaged or have a loose connection, which can cause the power to cut in and out. Inspect the power cord carefully, and if necessary, replace it with a new one. Faulty motor: If the motor is faulty or damaged, it can cause the power to cut in and out. You may need to have the motor repaired or replaced. Electrical interference: If the saw is being used in an environment with high levels of electrical interference, this can cause the power to cut in and out. Try moving the saw to a different location to see if this resolves the issue. If you have checked all of these potential issues and the problem persists, it may be best to take your saw to a professional for further diagnosis and repair.

Hitachi chop saw c10fsb won't start?

Check the brush holders and make sure the brush can travel freely all the way down to the commutator.
Look down the brush tube with a light and turn the blade to rotate the armature - look for missing/burnt segments on the commutator.
Also, this has a soft-start module that can go bad - if the brushes and armature are good, switch rings out, and all connections are tight, I would lean toward the module.

Trying to remove brushes on my Hitachi C10FSH MITER SAW. Removed caps on sides of motor housing with no problems. The brushes will not come out, scared to pull on springs to hard. Suggestions please!

You might have let the brushes go to long and they are worn so far that they came out of the holders. Maybe try turning the blade backwards while pulling on the brushes.

How do i change brushes

Need to know the model you have. The larger Hitachi hammers have external brush caps (usually under a metal plate or metal end cover)

Won't start

Symptom of poor contacts..
It could be the carbon brushes that you need to change?
Check the carbon brushes.
Use a wooden pallet to hit around the motor area and on the machine see if it can start.

How to change brushes on hitachi c18dl

The brushes on your saw motor (Hitachi part number 324-572) are not replaceable. That is to say, Hitachi does not sell them as a seperate part, they are built into/part of the motor.

How do i remove (and replace) the carbon brushes on a hitachi c8fb2 moter saw? I removed the brush caps and can pull on the springs but not moving. DO i just pull harder? I'm afraid to break it in there.

After removing the black brush caps, take compressed air and blow any debris out. Next take a pair of needle nose pliers and gently pull the brush,,, ( you can use a moderate force). If it does not pull out you may need to remove the black vent cover adjacent and use a tiny screwdriver between the brush and the armature, as there may be a slight burr on the brush. Good Luck.

I have the Hitachi cordless circular saw (C18DL) after a good year of use it has stopped working, when I press the trigger the light comes on but the blade does not move and the motor does'nt make a sound,...

It will be the brush holder in the motor has broken.......Ive just had my 4th brush holder break up, The design of them is rubbish!

Im planning on making a hole on the motor casing to accept proper brushes, Ive taken them apart and replaced the broken brush with one out of another motor and bought a faulty one for the brush holder.
