My wife's Eureka 5855 Boss Bagless Wide Track stopped running

HELP?

My wife's Eureka 5855 "The Boss" 12 amp Wide-track Bagless Upright vacuum cleaner shut down the last it was being used... just as if someone pulled the plug

Is there a fuse or internal breaker that can blow or snap off?

If so, where is it located? How to get at it? Etc., etc.

Its probably something in the motor. you may have to replace the motor which could cost around $50.

Download parts and operators manual

This owner's manual is available on the Eureka website. www.eureka.com Type in your model # down in the right corner, search & buy accessories.Click go, then choose either the 402A or 402A-1. It is the same owner manual for either one.

Eureka the boss upright bagless vacuum. How do I open it to get to the belt area? The brush seems stuck. It won’t move.
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Knowing the brand name and model number for the vacuum but I can give you a generic way of changing the belt. You 1st need to remove the bottom plate by screws, levers or clips, then you can get @ the belt, if not then you should remove the top cover and then you can get @ the belt. 1st remove the belt from the brushroll and install the new belt on the pulley side of the brushroll and then use a belt puller or a screwdriver with a bend on the end and then stretch the belt onto the motor pulley and then track the belt in a straight line so that is running in a straight line. Replace the bottom plate and the belt change should be done. Please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Eureka Wide Track Superlite vacuum roller brush motor

Don't know if you can find something that will work, Eureka doesn't make these motors available thru them. Try some local shops or a place that sells small motors.

BOSS 5851 Wide Track, 12 Amp

The top comes off to get to the belt and brush roll. Did you check the brush roll to make sure that the ends turn freely, or is one not turning, the belt is a lon life "U" part #61120A. The brush roll is what drives the vacuum, but if brush roll or belt is bad, then it won't drive it.

There must be screws on the bottom to take out to get the nozzle apart.

Eureka 5849A Boss bagless upright

remove belt to brush roll and see if noise persists. if it stops, you probably need a brush roll. at least doing this will narrow down the fault area
