Player shutting down after 10 seconds

My player keeps shutting down after 10 minutes no matter if I am plugged into the wall or if I have full battery power. Any idea to why it keeps doing this?

  • dbookey Sep 14, 2007

    It's shutting down completely, the power light on the player it self goes from Green to orange to red in time frame, It's showing that I have a low battery.

Shutting down completely like power is gone or just DVD stopping with power on? If completely shutting down the look in power supply and find bad capacitor and replace. If DVD stops with power then look at laser, clean or maybe damaged.

Advent DVD player won't turn off

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your Advent DVD player not turning off properly. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the remote control: Make sure the remote control is not accidentally turning on the DVD player. Try removing the batteries from the remote and test the power button on the DVD player again.
  2. Check the power cord: Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the DVD player and the wall outlet. Also, check that the outlet is working properly by plugging in another device to see if it powers on.
  3. Unplug the DVD player: Try unplugging the DVD player from the wall outlet for a few minutes, then plug it back in and test the power button again.
  4. Try a soft reset: If the above steps don't work, you can try performing a soft reset on the DVD player. To do this, unplug the DVD player from the wall outlet, wait a minute, and then plug it back in. Press and hold the power button on the DVD player for about 10 seconds, then release it. The DVD player should turn off.
  5. Check for a hardware issue: If none of the above solutions work, the issue could be caused by a hardware problem with the DVD player. In this case, you may need to contact the manufacturer or a repair professional to have the DVD player serviced.
It's possible that one of the above solutions will resolve the issue, but if not, it's best to consult the DVD player's manual or contact the manufacturer

Why does my tom tom keep going the shut down page every 10 seconds I have pressed reset but makes no difference I ride bmw r1200rt

One possible cause is that your battery is low or the battery can no longer hold a (good) charge. In this case, the TomTom is shutting down because there's not enough battery to keep it running, even though it is plugged into a power source.

To determine if the battery is the cause, try to charge the TomTom battery .... using a (USB) connection to your computer, or a direct power source (i.e. while the TomTom is not being used). Let it charge for a few hours until the batter charge indicator shows that it is fully charged (or just leave it charging overnight).
Then, unplug the TomTom from the "charger" and power it up. If the TomTom (battery) doesn't hold a (good) charge, the device will shut down within a few minutes, e.g. 10 mins or much less.
When you (then) plug the device into a power source, and it doesn't stay on (i.e. it keeps shutting down after 10 seconds), you can safely conclude that the battery is the cause of your problem.

Swagger MP3 audio player does not hold a charge. I plugged it in overnight and could bearly play a song in the morning.

Most likely you have a full charge but the problem is FALSE Advertising! Swagger MP3 players only support MP3's downloaded from Amazon.com, any other MP3's will only play for a matter of seconds before shutting off. These players are a total rip off.

Only works when plugged into power source

The battery will charge when running from mains. If you leave it plugged in for 20 minutes and then unplug, use and note how long before it shuts off, recharge again for 40 minutes and repeat.It shuould last a lot longer after a 40 min charge. And if it only lasts a minute or so after the first charge then the battery needs replacing (sometimes it's cheaper to replace the player) if it doesn't work at alll after 20min charge then definatly battery gone.

RCA OPAL WON'T CHARGE-SAYS BATTERY FULL BUT....

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Keeps shutting down.

The solution is found! There's no need to format your HDD
So.
- Unplug the battery;
- Press and hold the reset button for 20-25 sec;
- Put the battery back to it's place;
- Charge your device (when you plug the cable in, it turns on (note that a blinking lightning icon appears on the charging indicator), then it turns off with it's "shutting down" message, dont pay attention on this, just let it charge for about 10-15 minutes (note that the CHG bulb won't be lit));
- Turn on your device. The CHG bulb is lit, Archos doesn't shut down
- Enjoy
