Hi. We've got used ("as is") Electrolux Frigidaire frost free upright commercial frezer about a week ago in a "used appliance store". (The only number i found on service data sheet is 216857700A - not sure it's the right one) It makes some working noise (sounds about right), we put a bottle with water in the door somewhere in the middle. Next day it was frozen. So we put some food on the top shelfs. We opened it in few days and found everything melted. Interesting thing (i tested with cool packs putting one on each shelf) the top and middle ones are melted, the lower 2 are frozen. Questions are: Did we waste our money? What could be wrong? Thermostat? Thank you.
I would look for a refrigerant leak.
Not sure if u still need help but the first thing I would do is remove the grills on the front and back and vacuum out the fins on the condenser...dust and grime collects here and will cause the unit to overheat and not cool properly....sometimes an air compressor can be used or air in a can for the hard to reach places.
Tr this and see what happens...good luck
Hi Dale Dibb, thank you for your inquiry!
I understand that the food inside of your Frigidaire freezer is getting frost on the inside of the packages. I would recommend turning the temperature up inside of your freezer. Additionally moisture inside of the package would cause frost to develop on the inside of the food packages.
Please assure that all possible moisture has been removed out of the food packages prior to placing the items inside of the freezer. If there is anything else that I can help you with, please feel free to reconnect! -Matt
Hello David - Typically most of the recent manufacture freezers have fan motors, however some are enclose to where you are unable to reach or see it. Are you having a specific problem with your freezer?
