Its in the TV Setup. The Cable box will output the Closed Captioning on
Line 20 or 21 of the Picture - this is just at the top of the TV
Picture where you can't see it. The TV Menu should have a choice of
closed Captioning like CC1, Teletext, etc. and one of them should be
selected. After exiting the menu, you should start seeing Closed
Captioning
on the tv.

Basically,
you can try to access the MENU of your tv with or without your remote,
but as to make things easier, try o access the MENU and look for the
close captioning options there using your remote. you may see it as turned OFF and try
to switch it to ON.
however, you may not be able to see all shows and dvds with caption...
since your problem indicates that you need closed captions on your tv and you cant seem to operate it, please download Jaime867 post about the user manual.
Closed captions and Digital closed captions are found in Page 37 in the user manual...
again, hope you'll be able to see the closed caption soon.
