SOURCE: face plate went out on my pioneer deh 6800mp

There is a fine strip that runs from the face to the circuit board. It is possible that face has gotten dirty just needs a can of compressed air or the circuit board has failed inside the face. The face plate is very easy to take apart and put back together, just make sure you don't lose any pieces ;) Good luck!

"kdc-mp442u reset button???? face plate? not there?help

It's usually behind the face plate. Take off the face plate there should be a reset button, you will need a small pin to reset it. I also included a link to the manual for more help if needed.

I have a Kenwood KDC MP532U. The face plate will not display.

it more than likely has bad solder connections inside the radio on some surface mount resistors usually located on the right front of the radio as it faces you.

Display on kdc-mp638u not working

These units are pretty cut, and dry.. Basicly the only thing you can check for yourself is connection. If the connection between the face plate, and the deck is good, and tight then you have one of 2 problems.
1) Bad face plate. Fix= $90-$130

2) Bad connection to the board on the radio Fix $60-$120

There is however a VERY off chance the processor is jumbled up, and wont cost you a dime to do a cold reset, so give it a shot.

To reset this unit simply remove the face plate, and locate the rest button. It is very small, but easy to find. Just use an ink pen or something of similar size to push the button.
