A likely cause is that the battery is "dead" ... i.e. no longer holds a charge. The GPS runs on battery power, even if it is plugged in. It will work even if the battery holds a (small) charge. But if the battery doesn't hold much of a charge anymore, the device may go into "power saving mode" ... that's where you'll notice the screen brightness goes down, the screen color changes, etc.

If this is the case, you'll want to change the battery.
If this is not the case, it is possible that the navigation software is corrupted. And you'll want to restore it from backup, or download a fresh version (from TomTom.com).

Why does my insignia converter box shuts off by itself after several hours of watching tv? Model NS-DXA2.

The power saving feature may be enabled on the converter box. The setting counts from the last operation performed by the remote.

Press Menu and navigate to Settings with the up/down arrows. Press OK. Then navigate to Power Saving and press OK again. Use the Up/Down arrows to change the power saving option to 4 hours, 8 hours, Program (the current program listed in the EPG for the channel you are on), or Off. Press OK to save the setting and then press Menu again to exit the On-Screen Menu system.

I hope this helps.

(I had to turn off the Power Saving option for my converter box that is connected to my DVD recorder.)

Application;Mobile navigator.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If problem persists contact the program vendor. Program; Mobile Nav Exe Eception; oxc0000005 Address; o1b1f2dc

Application crash. On a couple of occasions, we've hit application crashes, specifically the following: "TomTom Navigator.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor. Program: TomTom Navigator.exe. Exception: 0xc0000005, Address: 000b2c6c". We got this using v2.24 (361). We've seen two solutions proposed online:
  • This may be a problem with custom POI files. Check the names used - the bitmap and the datafile must have identical names: first one capital - rest lowercase.
  • One user solved the problem by removing the optional colour schemes that were obtained from the TomTom site. Removal solved the problem.
We found that reinstalling the map (not the application), solved the problem. If you get a similar crash, check the files in the map folder for anything odd.

Canon pixma mp220

I had the same problem, and this is the fix.

1. Go to Canon's website and find the "Drivers and Downloads" section. From there, you will need to specify the subcategories of your hardware, and then your specific model (for example: Hybrid (i.e.-Printer & Scanner), Inkjet, MP470 Series)

2. When you find the proper page for your model printer, select your operating system from the drop down list.

3. Scroll down the page. You will see all versions of the drivers and programs to download. Download the latest version of the driver. You should also download the "My Printer" program. This is useful for troubleshooting and maintenance.

4. Keep scrolling until you find the "MP Navigator" program. This is a very important program, and is necessary for the scanner to operate properly. Download this program.

5. One MP Navigator is downloaded, verify that the scanner will use this program when it operates. To do this, go to the Start menu, click on Control Panel, click on Scanners and Cameras, click the printer that you will be using, then click properties. Click the tab at the top that says "Events." You will then see a drop down menu with the options Save to PC, Save as PDF, etc. Verify for each option that your computer is either opening the MP Navigator program, or that the computer will prompt you on which program to open.

This should get your scanner working. Hope this helps!

KVT 819DVD navigation Icon works but does not launch navigation blue screen - I have to hit the "V" button 3 times to get the navigation. Shouldn't the NAvigation Icon automatically launch the gps system?...

Ensure that NAV is set to auto. To set it up you have to access the user setup menu. To access that you would have to press the FNC button and look for the wrench Icon and scroll down until you get to user interface. Also keep in mind, whatever screen that you are viewing before you shut your vehicle off is the screen that is going to pop back up once you start your vehicle up again. Let me know if this works for you.

Dell E196FP TCo99 Monitor screen problems

The screen colour changing is apparently an auto test procedure on the monitor and was prompted by a fault with the monitor not automatically shutting down when the computer is shut down. The settings on the monitor have been adjusted to rectify this and the problem is now gone.
