I bought a new Kindle e-ink from Amazon yesterday. It has the following problems: 1. It is very very slow, extremely slow and keeps freezing. 2. My computer reads it as a Removable Drive and not as a kindle. 3. I tried resetting it, and now it is stuck in sleep mode and won't wake up! I've held the power button for 45 seconds, but nothing happens! Help!

Call Kindle help. Your computer reads it as removable drive because it's connected by a cord.

SOURCE: my kindle keeps freezing

In most cases, to avoid freezing, keep battery charged and turn off wireless when it's not being used. To properly reset, hold power switch to the right for 15 seconds.

Resetting the device is not a bad thing, most electronic devices need it to be done. It can be annoying, but it's not fatal.

I would keep track of how many times you need to reset the device. Once the amount get over a few times per day, honestly, I would call Kindle Support. They've got the necessary software to look further into your Kindle.

I guess you're trying to eject the Kindle from the task bar "(safely remove hardware". Try going into Start/Computer/right click on Kindle/ select eject. This worked for me when I had the same problem.

My old kindle quit working and I bought a new kindle fire. How can I add my old kindle account to my new kindle fire?

What you really need to do is add your new Kindle device to your
existing Amazon Kindle account. The good news is if you bought it from Amazon new, Amazon automatically registers it to your existing account. So . . .

Go to the Amazon website using your laptop or desktop computer and log onto your Amazon account.

1)On the upper right of the page you should see *Hello (your name)*
Drop down this menu by hovering your mouse pointer on it.

2) Select *Manage your content and devices*

3) If you're not logged in, enter your Username and password.

4) If you're browser is set to save passwords an log in you won't
need to do step 3

5) Select the *Your Devices* tab

6) All your Kindle devices should be listed there, including the new
Kindle Fire.

7) You can click on your old Kindle and *deregister* it.

8) You can make your new Kindle Fire your *default device* and
you can edit your other Kindle devices such as any Android
Device onto which you have installed the Kindle App.

9) The default device status ensures new books purchased will
automatically download to that device when it's connected to
the internet via Wi-Fi or 3G depending on what your Kindle Fire
is configured with.

10) You can click on the *Settings* tab to manage your credit card and other information.
