If all else fails try this:
(at your own risk)
1. Turn on the printer
2. Open the rear cover and remove the paper feeder there
3. Insert a sheet of paper from the rear (in the slot at where the paper feeder just was.
4. turn off the printer
The printers rolls will spin as it shuts down and it will pull in the paper, hopefully clearing the paper sensor.
This worked for my MG5420
You are awesome! This worked perfectly!
Worked Great! Thank you.
I was desperate! Thank you for this gorgeous solution !!!
This worked! Thank you so much! The sheet of paper pushed the 3 index cards that had fallen out of the upper tray, through the paper transport mechanism. The printer made an awful noise as the sheet of paper jammed up so I executed an emergency shut down (unplugged it). I removed the index cards, cleared the new jam and restarted. The printer is now working perfectly.

Check the back of the printer. There should be door at the bottom. Your paper jam could be there.

There are pieces of paper stock on the sensor, when the paper jam happened then you pull out the paper did you get the whole page of the paper or have missing pieces? open the paper guide, turn off and on the printer and observe the unusual objects in the roller, this error is caused by objects in the sensor.
SOURCE: My Canon MP530 indicates that I have a paper jam.
Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.
And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.
Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.
That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.
So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
