I have a Maytag MAH6500AWW Front loader that from time to time will not drain the water at the end of a cycle. It used to happen every couple months where there would be a little water visible once we took out all the wet clothes, but today it doesn't look like it drained anything... wife got a surprise foot bath!! Once I hit a new spin cycle, it immediately dumps all the water like it should first thing... I removed the pump about a year ago to check for clogs or sludge, but it was spic n span. Thinking it's an electronic issue in the digital controls? Any thoughts? Test procedures? Thanks for the help!

Hi, Bought a Maytag front loading washer #MAH6500AWW about 5 years ago. 1. The amount of water remaining in the machine (if you turn the drum it sounds like SEVERAL gallons of water swooshing around)...

i would say the drain pump is blocked.......... you could take the drain hose and leave open end at lowest point on the floor into a container and let water drain out..........easier if you can get machine to outside door and let water drain outside i did a zanusi last night...stuck in the pump was 9 small coins 1 hair grip and a womans bra under wire............
follow the waste hose at the back of the machine it ends at the pump......... open the pump then check it out...
good luck..
cheers

My Maytag Neptune front loader always retains water after the rinsing cycle is complete. This has lead to mold in the door gasket and a moldy smell. Is it normal for water to stay in the machine after the...

pump is probably clogged not allowing all water to drain out. Should never see water in the tub at the end of a cycle. About once a month you should run your washer through a cycle with hot water and bleach. Doing that should keep the moldy smell down.

Front loading Maytag Neptune doesnt drain all water

the washer has a low level of water in it at all times. it will never completely drain out unless you pump it. this is one of the reasons there is such a smell with these washers, i use vinegar in rinse cycle and i use bleach once sometimes twice a month to keep mold and mildew smell away.

MAYTAG MAH6500AWW-WASHER WILL NOT AGITATE/SPIN

Hello,

Check out the motor control board near the floor on the right side. These have a high failure rate on the Neptunes. Maytag redesigned both the motor and motor control board to be more reliable. While inspecting this board, you are looking for a blown 10 amp fuse and /or burnt components. If you have either... then you will need the the new 12002039 motor conversion kit which includes the motor, motor control board and the wire harness.

See http://www.neptunehelp.com/index_files/Page667.htm.

This kit takes about an hour to install.

Don't forget to replace your door latch wax motor. See www.neptunehelpsong.com to hear a funny song explaining the faulty door latch failure.

This is a frontload Neptune. I think you will find that the motor control located in the bottom right front of the cabinet is bad.

GE Front Loader Won't complete cycle

My GE Front Loader is 18M old and it has been progressively getting worse, not spinning the water out......I should have known the Pump had a cleanable strainer as Solution #1 says. Pulled a fist size chunk of wet lint, coins, a necklace and wrappers from the Strainer, not to mention about 2 Gal of dingy, soapy water. Tried a Drain/Spin and after a couple of minutes, went to High Speed Spin for the 1st time in about 3 months. Obviously there is a Water Sensor on the Drain Line somewhere that if the Drain Line still has water in it, it does not allow washer to go into Med/High Spin Mode.
