Our Epson Scanners do not work from Photoshop CS4

At college we have an Epson Expression 1640xl and 2 Expression 1680s that are used with Mac computers. Epson supplied a driver for 10.5, but says it only works if you start Photoshop in Rosetta mode. Not only does it  not work from Photoshop, the scanner software opens on start up and Photoshop does not.
Have you run into this? What can I do to access the scanner from Photoshop CS4?

Try using a separate scanner utility to do yr scans - not ideal but sorted my problem. I use the EPSOM scan utility with a Perfection 2400 scanner.

Funky look to images

Hi folks. I am the originator and have the solution to the problem. I feel a little stupid because I overlooked using a plastic insert/guide which is placed on the scanner, fitting on notches. It lets the scanner know to use the transparency device and provides a notch for film holder placement. It has been so long time since I used film ever since digital photography took over, I overlooked using this plastic insert. With it placed, I can scan film fine. Thanks
