This has been happening since last night when I try to log in

What do you mean by you can't access your account? Is it a wrong password? If it is, your account may have been disabled due to several wrong attempts in logging in. Facebook offers you a way to enable your account again by sending a verification code to your mobile phone, and then you'll have to enter the verification code back to facebook, so that facebook will know that you are the true owner of the said account.

Site Maintenance message usually means that Facebook is making an improvement to the database and after the maintenance is over, you will be able to login to your account without any problem.

Usually, this maintenance process takes just a few hours and affects only few users at a time.

If the "maintenance error" lasts longer than 24 hours and you are still unable to login to your account, kindly report the issue to Facebook Support by clicking this link.

For a few hours probably. Try to log in tomorow morning. There is nothing you can do to speed it up....

I would like to inform you that facebook is currently accessible and available. It would be best for you to try accessing your facebook account on another computer that is connected to a different network to make sure that this is not a network issue.

smile...well, that could be either of two things.

1. Your account might have been hacked
2. You are using firefox and every so often i notice that you need to clean your browsing history, cache etc.
3. FB might be undergoing maintenance on their servers.

Check either of the 3 and see how it work out.
