SOURCE: my sanyo plasma flat screen tv will not come on....

For what it's worth, you can download the official Sanyo repair manual for this TV (DP42746) at http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/43343/sanyo_dp42746.html. I uploaded it here when I had some issues with this TV last year. The solution almost always seems to be to replace the Power Board and the Upper and Lower Y Buffers. The parts and costs (from Sanyo in July 2009) are listed below (NOTE: Sanyo will not ship these parts to anyone but a repair shop):
1. V4 Y-Main (Y-Sustain) Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01200A, Alt Part # LJ41-02759A) - USD $139.00
2. Upper Y-Buffer Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01202A, Alt Part # LJ41-02760) - USD $64.00
3. Lower Y-Buffer Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01203A, Alt Part # LJ41-02761A) - USD $64.00
Sanyo charges USD $10.50 for shipping, which brings the total cost for parts to USD $277.50. From my research, a shop would probably charge between USD $500 and $700 to do this repair. FYI - there is a class action lawsuit pending against Sanyo for this issue. The V4 Y-Main (Y-Sustain) Circuit Boards fail VERY frequently in this TV due to overheating. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: ysus board number for a sanyo 50'' plasma model dp50747

I just bought a Sanyo DP50747 50 inch plasma. When I pause the tv, then push play (even 1 minute or less) the sound does not start as soon as the picture starts back. I have picture first and no sound for 4 or 5 seconds then the sound continues from that point.

SOURCE: Sanyo DP50747 Replaced Power Supply still not working

this issue is related to either the y sustainer and z sustainer boards, checking the fuses on the y/b will giving you a good indication, if they are open(bad) then you'll have a easy fix, if not, i would try replacing the y board first.

Green light comes on no picmor sound

Hello Afox5, hi, make sure that there are no user controls or setup that are out of order. as a backgrounder, TV of this type mostly has two boards, power supply and main board. On the power supply board, this has two section, primary that deals with mains voltage and secondary that deals with TV supply current requirements, if you see green light mean that power on the secondary section of the power supply board of your TV is working, but it does not mean that the power supplied to the main board is correct, the supplied current produced by the power supply section to the main board that controls sound and picture needs to be checked, so voltages are needed to be checked and loose wiring, or screws needs tightening, are a common trouble, but some go to extremes like replacement of any boards.

Sanyo plasma tv screen is black and theres no sound, but the green light is on.

No sound and no video is usually means the main board is bad. Green power indicated power supply might be OK.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Sanyo DP42746 42 in. plasma TV

Well I have the same problem with green light and no sound and no pix. After i opened it all up i checked the main power supply board and found all fuses good and the 12vdc side of the board dead. My best guess is this power board has many problems. All the driver boards for the screen are located on the perimiter of the screen. If you loose part of the power supply board you will loose part of functions of the tv. At this time i am looking to replace the entire power board. Will let you know the location and fix soon as i find it. jim [email protected]

Sanyo plasma 42 TV Turn off for no reason

Ok Fellas I found the Problem!
The Problem is the V4 Y-Main Board. This board is located on the left side of the case looking upright from the back. I spoke with may suppliers, and Sanyo all confirming this. Apparently it has been an issue for some time. Sanyo has replaced the V4 Y Main board with a W1 Y main board in newer models. The W1 Board is NOT compatible for us tho. Just to be sure... If your T.V is taken apart (like mine) Disconnect the peripheral cable from the V4 Y Main, and turn on the set. I bet it will power up with audio and channel function just NO picture. When you plug the board back in... POOF set shuts down. Replacement boards are VERY hard to come by. So Happy Hunting!

Oh yeah.. just FYI, Sanyo, Phillips, and Samsung all use the same parts. Hopefully that will help your searching.
