Unable to setup Linksys WUSB54GC wireless network adapter
I have problems with installing the Linksys WUSB54GC adapter to my desktop computer. I have Windows Me on it.. Can anybody please tell me where to find an appropriate driver or what to do?
Thanks for the solution! But question still remains: why does Linksys give false information on the product package saying the WUSB54GC is compatible Windows 98SE and Windows Me??

You have to connect to your network without using wireless then u have to go to the linksys website and download the windows 7 driver. Install that driver then u can connect with wireless. Worked for me! Gl.
The operating system on your computer is Windows 7 and the adapter is WUSB54GC. You are getting the Error 211 that means the drivers are not installed properly. Though you have the CD of the adapter, you will need to download the drivers for the adapter from the web site. Go to www.linksys.com/download , enter the model number of the adapter. select the proper version of the adapter. download the drivers for windows 7. Now try to install the downloaded drivers. It will work.
check the IP address on your computer. There might be a static IP address on the computer. You said that your other computer is online wireless. Open the router set up page and check the wireless settigns of the router.

That device shouldn't be popping up as a drive letter. Only flash drives to that.
Sometimes the setup wizzards in Linksys do goofy things. If its loaded it up I would unilstall the Linksys sofware, restart the computer, plug the network apapter in and let Windows load up the drivers you need from the CD and don't use the wizzard.
you have to install the driver for it to work and i assume that is not the case as you have no cd.
Go here to download the driver.

When installed go to the properties of your adapter in network connections, then click on tcp/ip line and then properties and ensure obtain ip address automatically is ticked and press ok.
You may also have to use the home network connection wizard if you havent previously to share documents over your network.
Thanks for the solution! But question still remains: why does Linksys give false information on the product package saying the WUSB54GC is compatible Windows 98SE and Windows Me??
