Toshiba Satellite A55-s1066 wont boot

The A55-s1066 will not boot at all (no sounds fron the hardware, no display). All that shows up is the ambar ac light blinking (tried with and without the battery with and get same light blinking). No other light comes on. The amber light blinks with the follwing pattern repeated ( I guess this is the diagnostic code for what is happening). short blink - short blink - long blink short blink - short blink - long blink short blink - short blink - pause then repeats above cylce again.... Does anyone know what the code is for? What is the problem? Is it a bios problem? hardware? software? battery? Should this model boot with the ac power adapter and no batter? Please help I dont want to take it in to repair without knowing what is happening,,, Thank you for your help and suggestions!! dserrano4

I accidently removed something from my toshiba satelite A55-S1066. now my screen won't come on. Although I hear it. What do I do?

If you can't see anything as it is booting up then the black light on the display is out, as in broken. Get close to it and look on the edges and see if you see any light. If you see something but no picture your back light is out.

There's a function key, look for a pix of a moniter on one of the f keys. That switches it off and on. Try using an external monitor and see if you have a display. It may be stuck on external monitor if you were using one. Using another monitor will allow you to see and change it to the laptop display.

It could also be that the video chip went out on the motherboard...

I need toshiba satellite A55-S1064 utility/drivers recovery disk. My network doesn't work. My media system don't work.

You will need to call Toshiba's tech support line and get a new disk. Be careful to get the correct disk. I had them send me the wrong one once and I was frustrated for days.

Power but not pic

Hi

Fn+F3 is the hotkey for Standby. However you can use Fn+F5 to toggle the display. If Issue persists disconnect the AC adapter and take the battery out then press and hold the power button about 5 seconds. Put back the AC adapter and battery. Turn on the computer. If you need further assistance please post your question.

Good Luck
