Soapy water never worked for me... Pour kids bubbles into a bowl and use a paint brush to spread the bubbles on the top ring. If there is a hole you'll see it begin to blow a bubble where the hole is.  patch with vinyl repair kit.

If you have the pump connected as it shows in this picture, then you are all set. The water will run thru the filyer and be cleaned. You also need to test the water with a test kit to see what chemicals need to be added to maintain the Ph, alkalinity, ans chlorine levels.

SOURCE: Vacuum

ok, if u connect the vacuum plate to the skimmer then u need to submerge the hose all the way or the way i do is use the water from the return ( where the clean water returns to your pool and put the hose up against it to where the hose is filled with water and it will sink a little bit, This gets all the air out so it will be easier for the vacuum to get suction. Once u get the water in the hose by either submerging it or using the return water then connect the vacuum plate and then put it on the skimmer...it should start suction right away but if it doesnt that means u didnt fill the hose up all the way or u may need to just giggle the hose a lil to get it to start the suction....I hope this helps, let me know

SOURCE: Intex Easy Set 530 Gallon Swimming Pool Filter

Smaller pumps that comes with intex pools aren't usually enough to add aditional things to the system like a salt water generator or even to clean the pool. i bought a summer escapes pool from walmart and it was 20 round 8800 gallon and all it came with was a small cartridge filter and a 2000 gallon an hour pump which i had to replace with a sand filter and bigger 1 hp pump to even get it to clean my pool and i had to definetly purchace a bigger pump to add my salt water generator 2 my system. I was out there replacing the cartridge filters on every other day or atleast scrubbin them down and washing them with a hose. They only put the least they can get by with. So my suggestion is invest in a bigger pump and if your water isnt staying clear and u have the same problems as me with having to change the filters alot i would invest in a sand filter system. U can get a sand filter and pump combo. Ebay is where i purchased mine, cheapest place and they are brand new, saved around 300-400 dollars. Where your pool is a smaller pool u may get by with just purchasing a bigger cartridge filtration system if u dont want to invest in a sand filter and pump system. They run between 250 and 500 dollars on eBay brand new but it saves between 300-500 dollars if u purchased the same ones at a pool supply store locally. Trust me get on eBay and look around and then call your local pool store and ask how much they are, they will be alot cheaper for ya. Every1 thinks ebay sells used stuff only but they sell just as much brand new. Like i said i got mine on there and it saved me atleast 350 dollars. i would definitely upgrade your system thought either to a bigger cartridge and pump system or a sand filter and pump system. hope this helps.. But the pros to the sand filter and pump system is u only have to buy sand about every 3-5 years and u r buying the cartridge filters at least one a week for the cartridge filter and sometimes more and cleaning them out constantly.. So sand filter and pump systems are more than the cartridge but in the long run you will be saving money by not having to by those cartridge filters every week at least and it saves a lot of aggravation. Also the sand filter is like day like and dark to the cartridge system...u wont have to vacuum or even run the sand filter and pump, once its clear, maybe 3 times a week about 8 hrs a day. And if u ever want to upgrade to a bigger pool u will already have the right sand filter and pump system...As u can tell i love my sand filter and pump compared to the cartridge. I am so satisfied with my purchase before i write anymore, lol I hope this helps
Let me know, thanks and good luck
God bless

W/o it work if I don't add shock to the water, is it dangourse to swim in whilst it's green

Hello Jeannette -

The green color in a swimming pool is a sign of algae.

Apparently, the big problem with algae is the bacteria which can feed on algae waste.

Regarding bacteria feasting on algae waste . . .
(Quote)
Some of the most encountered problems are gastrointestinal illnesses, like E.coli and Giardia, rashes, skin lesions and other dermal infections, respiratory infections and swimmer's ear.

Personal opinions: I won't swim in an algae filled pool. You shouldn't either or subject anyone else to a swim in algae filled pool. Clean it up and keep the pool well-maintained, or drain the pool and cover the empty pool so no one will be subject to an accident.

Best wishes.

The tube around my intex pool has a leak, how do I find it and fix it?

Your picture above is of a pool float, but I assume you are talking about an inflatable ring pool. Is that right? If so, this link will take you through a tutorial on how to find and repair pool leaks:
