Hello Fixya, The lamp burned out on my Mitsubishi DLP television (WD-52327) which I have replaced. When I turn the tv back on, the lamp light indicator is a solid yellow and I never get a picture. When the tv shuts itself down, the lamp light indicator flashses green, and then turns solid red when it finally powers off. Please help. Sally Jo
Quick note to my original question; The red code 31 and tv shut down happened AFTER the new bulb was installed, not before. sorry.
Now, this is puzzling! After writing my original post regarding green/yellow warning lights and picture loss, then a new lamp replacement and then Code 31 red warning lamp indicator and tv shut down, I figured I'd give it one more try and see what the WD52327 would do this morning.
The set had been unplugged for a couple of days because it was also causing the surge protector to trip off.
I plugged the tv in, hit the power button, guess what? The TV works now and without any warning lights.
Thinking back to last week, I now remember that when the major problems occured, this was on the same day and after a professional carpet cleaning was done in the whole house, including the room with the set, the windows were also open all day with ambient temp around 32-40 degrees.
I know for fact that neither the television, the surge protector or any other electronic component such as the Dish Network 611 reciever or BOSE 3.2.1. had come in contact with wet carpets.
But I'm now wondering if because the air in the room was very humid from cleaning, if this may have contributed to the Mitsubishi DLP displaying all these faults and shutting down until the humidity had dried up in the room over three days.
After a couple hours of operation so far, all seems ok with no warning indicators, we'll see how things go over time and I'll let you know.

Hi Sally Jo, Unit powers on and works properly for a while then shuts off with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. Lamp enable line at J14 pin 6 does not switch to 5 volts after turn on, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 3. At power on the lamp turns on and off three times and then the unit shuts down with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Replace the Light Engine part # 939P977010 4. Check for 12-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 4 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check for an open F9A09 on the Power PCB, if it is open replace F9A09 part # 283P127060 and the Light Engine part # 939P977010 5. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on but does not go back to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 6. Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if missing replace the Power PCB part # 934C148001. Hope this helps!

Exactly the same as Sally Jo's. I checked all the pins at the connectors recomended by troylove but all checked good. What should the voltage be at the JE connector going to the light engine?

Hello FixYa and people, I'm new to this site, GREAT SITE!
Heres my prob, purchased a WD52327, took delivery 6/8/06, also purchased a GE 3YR extended warranty.
Within first 2 months, the green lamp would come on, and stay on, intermitantly would blink, turn on then shut off. I unplugged set for 30 minutes, it seemed to work fine next couple weeks, then same problem. A yellow light would also periodically blink. Only twice in a year did the red light blink.
Dealer sent repairman who couldn't verify problem, he said to call Mitsubishi and get a new bulb if problem kept happening.
I was sure to clean the filter every month.
Problem was very sparatic for next few months, Mitsubishi parts dept. sent what was to be a new bulb (PN# 915P020A10) which was delivered in a box and lamp enclosed in a ziplock baggie on 5/31/07 but I never replaced it because picture seemed to work ok and I never got around to replacing it. Plus, the repairman wanted to take the set to his shop for diagnosis.
I also began to notice an intermitant humming sound for a week or so from the set like a loud CPU or cooling fan but this went away.
On 12/6/07, tv would turn on, then shut down 3 times, now blinking a red code 31. I replaced the lamp, careful not to touch the glass and it went in fine.
I reassembed the panels, plugged the set in, it came on ok, reset the green lamp indicator and watched tv that night.
Next morning, tv would not turn on, had no power, found breaker on surge protector needed resetting, reset it, had power, pressed power on tv, set wouldn't turn on except it would power up for a moment and shut right down, this happened repeatedly. Now has what appears to be a RED Code 31.
I had something else to do, when I returned, Tried unplugging set, noticed surge protector off again. Unplugged set, waited, removed new lamp, reinstalled old lamp, replaced panels, same thing.
Carefully reinstalled new lamp, depressed access panel microswitch, pressed power, watched lamp light up and fan come on for a moment, then kept shutting off.
Mitsubishi doesn't want to know anything, their reply, contact GE extended warranty.
GE scheduled a repairman for 12/10/07, he called and said he was not an authorized Mitsubishi repairman but said problem sounded like defective light engine.
GE also said that if it is a bulb, it would ONLY be covered ONE time, which ticks me off as I spent good money on the contract and was misled by the selling dealer and the literature.
Contacted GE, they had another repair shop call, his response was also a possible light engine but would require tv to be shipped out and not returned until after Christmas.
My questions; 1) What is the Code 31 (three short red flashes followed by one long red flash) and why is this ONLY happening after the bulb was replaced?
2) It appears Mitsubishi has had a lot of Light engine faults, is this true compaired to the number of sets sold in the US?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
