Washer will not drain. I get the window saying to press button to test pump. The pump runs but no water is pumped out. After waiting over night the "drain/spin" options works OK and water is pumped out. Discharge hose is clear GE Profile Model WPGT9350COWW

I removed the hose and found that there was no obstruction how ever it now drains. Could there be an obstruction at the tub outlet? I felt as far as I could with my finger and found nothing.

My GE Profile Harmony washer will not drain. I can not get the "Drain / Spin" option to work. The pump appears to be clear. The impellor of the pump motor "cogs" when rotated. Is this normal? Is there a way to test the pump motor by ohming out the windings?

You need to access the hose connected to the drain pump, undo the hose and unblock it.

Here all schematics for your model.

You can blow the tub hose with a compressor after disconnecting drain pump (to avoid possible damage).

Washer won't drain

DIAGNOSTIC MODE
To enter diagnostic mode follow the steps below.
1. Turn the power on at the power point but off at the machine.
2. Press and hold WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING DOWN and then press POWER until the
machine gives 2 short beeps and lights up.
3. Release the buttons after the beeps as the beeps indicate diagnostic mode has been entered.
4.1 Last Fault Data
When in diagnostic mode the last fault can be found by pressing the SPIN SPEED UP or DOWN
buttons until the HOLD and SLOW lights are illuminated. Binary can then be read from the wash
progress lights.
4.2 Drain Pump Test
MW Washer
When in diagnostic mode press SMART TOUCH CYCLES to activate the drain pump. To
deactivate the pump, press SMART TOUCH CYCLES again.
GW Washer
When in diagnostic mode press REGULAR to activate the drain pump. To deactivate the pump,
press REGULAR again.

4.3 Water Valve Test
The water valves can be activated in diagnostic mode by pushing WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING UP to activate the Hot Valve and WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING DOWN to activate
the Cold valve as with previous models.
Pressing each button once will activate the valve. To de-activate valve press the same button
again. This is also good to use when installing machines as it takes the shock out of the fittings
and seals and allows checking for leaks on the inlet hoses, both machine end and tap or super-tub
end.
Caution: Do not leave the machine unattended when either or both valves are operating

HI,

Unplug your washer and open up behind, you will see a thin tube coming down from the control panel (pressure switch to be precise) to the waste area below. Disconnect this carefully from the top, blow into it, air should pass through it should not be clogged; refit carefully. Before refitting, fit a similar tube to the pressure switch & blow - you should hear a click; if not there should be a problem with your pressure switch. Anyway refit your old tube & try the machine.

The washer floods at the end of the cycle the pump is working this i know because when i manualy lift the mushroom float it pumps out could it be that there is a membrane in the mushroom float that is...

Hi there,

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "floods at the end of the cycle". Is water leaking from the washer and where from?

The mushroom float isn't a water level sensor to determine when the washer should pump out. It's a second level safety feature to prevent flooding if the washer overfills. The flow meter regulates the water level in the washer.

Your pump is obviously working and there is no blockage in the drain hose, etc as the water pumps out when you lift the mushroom float. It sounds like the pump isn't receiving a signal from the controller to pump out at the end of the wash cycle. Lifting the float bypasses the controller and runs the drain pump.

Please try the following simple test:

1. Switch the programme selector to "Off"
2. Empty a bucket of water into the bottom of the washer
3. Turn the programme selector to any wash cycle
4. Press and hold the Reset button (start/stop) for at least 3 seconds. The washer should drain.

Please try this test and let me know if the washer pumps out. Please can you also be a little more specific about how and where the washer is flooding.

Thanks,
BElectric

Washer displays Ld and won't drain. won't restart or anything. kenmore oasis

The LD fault code indicates that the washer took longer than 5 minutes to pump out the water and reset the water level pressure switch. You should be able to press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.

Check you drain hose for kinks or clogs. You could have a clog or failure in the drain pump that is causing this problem.

You can use a diagnostic test to start the drain pump. To start this diagnostic test, press the following keys in this order: SET DELAY TIME, END OF CYCLE SIGNAL, SET DELAY TIME, END OF CYCLE SIGNAL. The display should show "dt" after this key dance. Press the JEANS/COLORS key to start a 60 rpm spin and drain test that will terminate after 40 seconds. Listen for the drain pump. It should be running during this test. Also listen for unusual noises from the pump that could indicate that it is clogged. You may be able to drain the water from the washer using this diagnostic cycle depending on the severity of the clog or failure. If not, you may need to manually remove the water. If you are able to safely access and clear a clog in the drain pump or drain line, you may be able to repair this problem yourself.

GET ERROR CODE f-2, AND IT WONT DRAIN THE WATER kENMORE ELITE hE3T

It is a code for a long drain problem (more than eight minutes). Press the Pause/Cancel button twice to clear the display. When the display is clear, press the Drain & Spin button then select No Spin by pressing the Spin Speed button, and then press and hold the Start button to start draining the water.

Use your senses to check whether the drain pump is running or not. The drain pump is located at the front right bottom of the machine. Check the volume of water being discharged to the drainage.

Disconnect power to the washer and check the drain hose for clogs and kinks, and then repeat the No Spin draining process, if the drain pump is running and water is being pumped out, until the water is completely drained out of the washer. Just press the Pause/Cancel button twice when the code appears to clear the display and restart draining.

Make sure the drain hose is raised no more than eight feet above the floor where the washer is installed. The drain pump cannot pump the water properly out to the drainage more than eight feet above the floor.

When draining is complete, empty the machine then prop up the bottom front edge of the washer to allow easy access to the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet. Remove the screws, and then push the panel down and off the cabinet to access the drain pump.

Place a shallow pan or lay a towel under the filter to catch the water from the pump. Unscrew the filter from the pump assembly and drain the water. Clean the filter for any debris that might be causing the pump to work poorly then screw it back in place.

Slide the lower front access panel up back into the cabinet and secure it the three screws.

Kenmore Elite Oasis HE washer error code F2

The error code must be cleared first to make the machine back into operation. You have to press the PAUSE/CANCEL button twice to clear the error on the display.

The only filter the machine has is the one you removed to clean the pump. When the error is cleared, you can check the pump whether it is operating properly or not by running the diagnostic test.

Diagnostic Test Mode Procedure

  1. Close the door.
  2. Select the DRAIN/SPIN.
  3. Select NO SPIN by pressing the SPIN SELECT button.
  4. Press RINSE/HOLD or PREWASH OPTION button four times within five seconds.
  5. "C:00" will show on the display indicating that the door is locked and the diagnostic test starts.
  6. Press the button you pressed in step 4 above two times. "C:01" will show on the display and the machine starts to fill.
  7. Press PAUSE/CANCEL button two times when there's enough water inside the tub to stop the test.
  8. Observe the water level falls as the pump starts draining the water. Replace the pump if the water inside the tub does not drain. You have removed and cleaned the pump so you can easily replace it too.
Please inform me about the result of the diagnostic test and if you still need any assistance regarding this problem.

Error codes on Kenmore Elite washer

F11 is a serial communication error. Communication between the main board and the motor control board is not being sent correctly. This could be a bad main board, motor control board or motor itself. The testing can get pretty involved. Try putting the machine in a self test mode and see if the error clears. Press Cancell, then by pressing the drain spin button once on the left side then move to the spin speed button the the right. Press this button until no-spin lights. Press the prewash button 4 times. C00 should appear in the display. Let it run it's tests, there will be 8 of them and end up on C08. If this doesn't work, it's best you wait for the service tech.

while F09 is the water pump. It usually means something is clogging it. Take the front cover off of the washer and the water pump is located right in the middle front. Unscrew the cover to the pump and make sure there is nothing clogging it.
