Hi Denise, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
Did the unit previously experience a power loss? If
the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the buzzer will typically sound
and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. First, deactivate the alarm to
the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. Wait
approximately ten minutes and then turn on the unit. After deactivating the
alarm and the unit has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should
go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, the freezer may
possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control
or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an
experienced technician to determine the underlying cause.
Best regards!

Does it have a defrost cycle? If so, it could be the defrost timer is stuck on defrost. If not, unplug it and bypass the thermostat. try it then. Ifit works its the thermostat. Does the com[pressor make a humming noise when it tries to start? If so, it's a bad compressor. Could resolve with a "Hard start kit". Worst case, the compressor is shot and time for a new freezer.
Testimonial: "Yes it has a defrost cycle. I will check unplug it and check it out. "
