a bearing in the back for your drum sounds like what you describe. It needs to be taken apart and the bearing lubricated with high temp grease

Hello Jazz,

If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse (a heat-sensitive fuse that blows if the dryer overheats) mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse is about an inch long. It's usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing.

If the fuse has blown, it has no continuity. When this happens, your dryer either just stops heating, or it doesn't work at all. Be sure to inspect the venting/heating system before replacing the fuse to put the dryer back into operation. (You can't re-set this type of fuse.)
Joe.

Maytag gas dryer LDG7500AAL flame won't stay on longer than about 5 seconds.

The resistance is too weak in the hot surface ignitor to keep the gas valve open and requires replacement.

My maytag neptune MDG5500AWQ will heat only on the wrinkle release button. How do I get the front off to clean out the lint. Can't get it with the vacuum. please advise

Here is a good link that will tell you what you need to know. I purchased and inexpensive kit from lowes that has vacuum attachments that will reach into very small cracks and crevices. It has been a very helpful item to have.
Make sure to check the vent on the outside, and the ducting that runs through the wall.
Be very careful, some of the places are very sharp, might be wise to wear some gloves, and be mindful of any wiring you could run into.
Hope that helps,

Mike

My Neptue dryer wont dry unless I run it more than one cycle. model no. mdg5500awq. all lights work and seems to run fine it just wont dry the cloths unless I run it at least twice and jeans are three or...

Turn dryer on and go outside to the vent and check for a good amount of air coming out. If you do not have a good amount of air coming out, take the exhaust tubes apart and clean.

Dryer is hooked up but it will not turn on; no lights, no beeps our Maytag Neptune is model number MDG5500AWQ please help

more then likely it is the thermal fuse:

here is a new one, may be cheaper on eBay or faster to get from a repair/service shop:

http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Thermal-Fuse/2986

here is the location, it is on the bottom of this page, Good Luck Tim:

http://www.applianceaid.com/gas_dryer.html#noheat

As a test you can tape the two wires together, make sure power is off and do not run dryer like this as it will cause a fire.

Neptune won't dry clothes -

I would replace the solenoids. The gas valve is not fully opening. The glow bar may be failing but the coils on the valve are in need of replacing..
