Ge electric dryer will not start model number dde 5300phlwh serial number rz206073g There's no ticking no nothing. Any suggestions?

check the spring heat coil in the back of the dryer, you'll have to take the top and the back of the dryer off.

We have a General Electric Dryer, Model # DDE 5300 GBLWH.WE KEEP GETTING WHAT LOOKS LIKE OIL STAINS IN THE CLOTHS .IT NOT THE WASHER THATS A GE TOO .

There could be some rubber/plastic or other contaminants in the drum, that leach on to your clothes when the dryer heats up. It's possible that some oil got on the felt seal that goes around your drum.

Probably dried grease that came out of a worn out bearing. With it's age it's time for a new one.

Push the start button and nothing happens - no noise nothing.

check both thermal fueses, door switch, power relay, timer contacts if good, replace motor, do you have 220 volts at plug
